Bump.

I'm wondering what you guys think after Bulls losing 9 of 13.

Are the GarPax apologists still out there?

Bump.

These were your last two posts, and then the Garnett post. There has been one useful post by you in that thread. The rest were name calling and trolling. Even now you have to resort to name calling to try to justify your thread, which is the exact point. If you want to discuss further, please send a PM, otherwise it is over, and we don't need to derail another thread with pointless attacks.

Show me an admin on this board that wants Paxson fired. All of the admins are in Paxson's corner. The thread was closed. Convenient way of shutting down a conversation that you guys don't want to have. I basically wrote a small article the other day with a lot of insightful facts. The thread was not to troll anyone. It was to advocate the firing of a Chicago front office guy who SHOULD absolutely be on the hot seat. It wasn't like I was posting that stuff in Pale Hose Talk. I was posting information within the appropriate thread.

Yesterday, I posted the following comment which prompted an admin, who happens to be a big Paxson supporter to blow the whistle and shut the entire thread down:

Here is the comment that shut the thread down:

"Here is a quote from Kevin Garnett on why he never wanted to play for the Bulls..."If they crapped on the best player in the game, then why would I want to go there? I just felt like...Chicago the management there...its all about them...unfortunately players win championships...not management"

Players are again probably noticing how the Bulls treated Thibs and Noah...When players see Pax they know what he did to Vinny...They aren't going to get any FA's for a loooong time."

Posting a quote like that is interesting to sports fans. And especially relevant in a thread when discussing Bulls management.

You're trying to play the victim here, but 95% of your posts are you insulting other posters. It's not a conversation when one side is just constantly attacking the other.

What's actually interesting is that a big reason why the "Best player in the game" didn't come there is that Thibs specifically wasn't going to give special treatment to the best player in the game. That was Thibs's game - if Lebron came, Lebron was going to be in a system that worked, but he wasn't getting special locker room treatment, he was going to be a class act like the rest of Thibs's players. He was going to practice hard. He was going to work hard on defense and fit alongside Thibs. The Bulls not landing him was in part because they were working with Thibs's system1

And f*** how the Bulls treated Vinny. He wanted better treatment, he should have tried not being a disaster. If you want to criticize something regarding the time they suffered from VDN, criticize the hiring. That was an a complete utter debacle.

Your point on Thibs and star players is emphasized by the fact that Thibs has yet to get another coaching job. Everyone is so afraid he'll go to Cleveland. He should go run what's left of LeBron into the ground.

He is getting paid by the Bulls still, so why the f*** would he need to rush into a coaching job?

You need to back that up Balta. You telling me that Lebron didn't choose Chicago prior to Thibs even coaching a game, because Thibs demanded he play defense? Sounds fake, or sounds like one of the many knee-capping leaks that came out of the Bulls front office while Thibs has stayed silent and not discussed.

I am convinced it is also the same reason that Thibs spent a decade + as a top assistant trying to get hired as a head coach.

It's been 1 year. Thibs will certainly get another coaching job.

"Run what's left of Lebron into the ground", yeah, unlike Spoelstra, who would play him 48 minutes a night some nights.

That's because NBA front offices are idiots and risk averse and continue to hire Lawrence Frank, Byron Scott and Vinny Del Negro over an assistant coach. Why was Budenholzer an assistant for 18 years? Is it because he's so mean too?

Thibs could easily get hired right now. He is going to pick his spot. Considering the Bulls owe him $9 million, he probably has that luxury. One question, if he was so terrible, and so mean, why did the geniuses who run the Bulls hire him in the first place, and give him an extension?

I think he's a spectacular coach but he can only work with certain people and he probably also has a lifespan with organizations. We kinda saw the same thing with Skiles when he was here - absolutely got the best out of his players, was a key part in taking an org that didn't have the leagues best talent and pushing them into the 2nd round, but eventually the personality clashes between him and the team got so bad that the Bulls basically collapsed for a year and were forced to remove him.

The Bulls gave Thibs probably the best possible roster for him in 2011-2014. Center like Noah, hard workers like Deng and Butler, guys who would buy in but weren't such big names they dominated everything, guys who would put up with him always being on them, deep bench including "guys Thibs likes for defense", but unfortunately the engine that could make the offense go kept breaking down. Then eventually, players and the org started feeling he was overdoing it, especially when they brought in an all star from outside the org who hadn't had to put up with a coach like Thibs before.

The only player who turned on Thibs was Jimmy Butler. He's also turning on Fred Hoiberg.

Sometimes you don't appreciate things until they are gone. If Butler turned on Thibs, I bet he is having second thoughts. The guy actually said GarPax's guy needs to coach harder.

if you don't mind, kinda of refresh my memory, wasn't there an article that came out that said 2 key players met with the gar/pax and voice their displeasure.... i remember i thought i read something like that.

i even thought on this site, the fans were trying to put names to those 2 players.

screw this, i was against the thibs thing and i thought the bulls needed to redo the team. it was hopeless then.

Skiles is probably a great comp for Thibs. From another sport, I also liked a comp to Mike Keenan.

Where did this "Butler" turned on Thibs notion come from? I had it on pretty good record last year (not necessarily the end of the season so maybe something happened in the playoffs that set him off) that Butler absolutely loved Thibs.

On the other hand, Bernstein is coming out and indicating Butler does not respect Hoiberg. Taj also had some comments last week, which made it sound like he didn't respect Hoiberg. This is the Taj who has always been perceived as nothing but class (and I know that Taj loved Thibs...knew a guy that coached Taj during summers and Taj would rave about Thibs).

It sounded like Butler was pretty anti Hoiberg at the deadline. Is this a Butler issue (if he turned on two coaches, I'd say maybe, but like I said, I had never heard about Jimmy not liking Thibs and it was widely reported that the two had dinner on a few different occasions after Thibs had already been fired (which to me made it pretty clear he respected Thibs). Oh and when Jimmy threw Hoiberg under the bus to coach harder, one of the items he was directly quoted saying was Thibs mantra.

Mods,

I would like to put a formal complaint on record that Quinarvy literally CLOSED a relevant sports thread because he disagreed with the topic. If you read the thread it is filled with well thought out discussion. He hated the thread the moment it opened. Quinarvy, you are an infant.

What is so controversial about having a fire John Paxson thread in a Chicago sports forum? Doesn't surprise me. Many meathead Chicago fans are so nostalgic about Paxson because he was on the Jordan Bulls that they refuse to believe he sucks at being an executive.

Formal complaint received.

It was closed due to lack of constructive conversation.

You still have this thread to utilize.

Thank you for your time.

I think the Bulls leaked something that indicated Butler wanted Thibs gone at the end of last year. I do know they had dinner together after he was waxed.

I don't know if Hoiberg will be a good coach or not, but his hiring is an exact replica of the Tim Floyd hiring. Both Iowa State. Both known to get the job months in advance. Both GMs making it seem like there will be an exhaustive search to find the right guy, and in the end the GM hires their buddy, and in reality really screws him over. Floyd had no chance with the garbage he had. Despite Gar calling his roster a championship roster, it's not close, making Hoiberg look incompetent. They will spin injuries, but those apparently were on the coach in previous seasons.

I would have respected Gar at least a little bit if he would have just said, Thibs is a great coach, I just don't like the guy so I am firing him. Not all the high school type garbage they did. Maybe they should do the same with Gar.
