Soxplosion
Hes in a 4-50 slump. Hes now hitting .246 with 36 homeruns and 96 RBIs. Assuming that only players on winning teams are considered, I think Frank has a great chance at MVP. Brett Boone has a chance but Seattle may not go to the playoffs, being 3 behind Oakland and 2 behind Boston. Manny has good stats and his team is in position to go to the postseason but he is a slug and not well liked by the media. Garciaparra and Tejada are minimally contending and the both are on playoff teams. Another thought is Lee. He is one of two players (Boones the other) on a winning team with 100 RBIs in the AL. If the Sox go to the playoffs, I say Frank wins. If Sox dont go, but the Ms do, I say Boone wins. And if neither goes, and Boston does, I say Garciaparra wins. Thoughts? KipWellsFan
There really are no stand outs and with Frank with such a low BA and Boone tailing off I think it should be Garciaparra.
Capn12
Again I'll reiterate, NEVER....NEVER has there been an MVP with an average as low as Franks, so says the wonderful people at BBTN. I really don't think you can give it to Frank anyway, and he's the reason I became a Sox fan back in 1990. Nomars numbers are probably the best out there for an MVP canidate

I agree with adding PayRod to the AL MVP list. After all, Texas was in contention on Opening Day
