the Cubs are good but also have a horseshoe up their asses this year. How many 1 run games have they won? Run differential is closer to a team 7-8 wins above .500, not almost 20

Their bullpen has been great lately, especially since they got rid of Soriano. Maddox's always been an unbelievable manager in terms of using his bullpen.

Another subpar effort from Ventura/Cooper.

Madden uses his pen.

Ventura/Cooper make damn sure that starter gets 6 and 100+

Yea, Ventura should worry about celebrations. That's the ticket to baseball success.

Rick Hahn should be proud of this mediocre team he's put together. The difference in GM/Manager between the Cubs and Sox is sickening.

Samardija and LaRoche turned out to be especially bad signings. Hahn does not have a very good track record for judging/bringing in talent so far.

Ventura loves to leave the starter in to get his brains bashed in.

He is trying to save the bullpen... but at what cost.

Just saw the Strop celebration. I'll be disappointed if a message isn't sent by Ventura tomorrow. What a total scumbag.

Previous pitch, Montero comes put to the mound, him and strop set up a pick off attempt for alexei at 2b. Problem is the 2b and SS didn't bother to cover so Alexei just stands there and gives him the Dikembe finger wag. It was great, and Strop was furious.

Maddon's been managing every game for the last 10 days like it's a playoff game.

I cant really blame Hahn for Shark... everyone thought that guy had balls of iron.. really he just has a bad haircut.

What's he saving his pen for? The offseason?

This was Putnam's 3rd appearance in August.

Ventura and Cooper have been saving the pen all season.

Hahn made some savvy deals in the winter of 2013.

Last year, he or Williams or both decided to go all in for "proven veterans" and it was, predictably, a disaster. Unknown to Hahn/Williams, apparently, career years are rarely repeated and players get worse in their 30s.

And watch them do some extreme hero-worshiping this offseason...they'll go after some guy who made the NL All Start team - a real hero...the board will be gaga....and he'll be mediocre.
