cabiness42
If the Sox need to trade pitching, I would prefer to see what I can get for Rodon and/or Adams rather than trading Q. To me Q is now a proven #1/2 starter. I think it's hard to get fair value in return for him. I think there's a better chance at getting fair value for Rodon and/or Adams. Quin
QUOTE (GREEDY @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 03:06 PM) I forgot about Rodon. But they wouldn't trade him for Quintana, Abreu, Johnson & Anderson. Then the Rockies would be goddamn fools.

GREEDY
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 03:13 PM) I'm just gonna say you're totally wrong here. 50% of the league needs a third baseman and there are none available. Everyone needs pitching but there are plenty of amrs available that only cost money, and several elite arms that cost a pick + money. I really do not see the Sox getting anywhere near the position player they want/need for Quintana this offseason. While I was exaggerating, I honestly feel the Q/Montas for Arenado proposals are 5X as ridiculous as the 4 player one I teased.

To me Q is now a proven #1/2 starter. I think it's hard to get fair value in return for him. I think there's a better chance at getting fair value for Rodon and/or Adams. I think Q is closer to a number three. Rodon can be an ace. Don't trade him. It should be quite easy to get fair value for Q. They know exactly what his value is. He's been consistent. They either pay it or they don't. It's about time the Sox trade off some veterans anyway. The org. is too sentimental as it is. Cubs had no problem dispatching Samardzija, e.g. Sox just had to hang onto Alexei over the winter. GGajewski18
QUOTE (SCCWS @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 01:53 PM) I doubt you get Longoria without including Q or Rodon. Completely disagree. Q and Rodon have more value than Longoria right now and this stage of his career. As for Arenado, I definitely think Anderson would have to be in the package to acquire him. Bigsoxhurt35
The interesting thing about Arenado is they probably know he's gone in a couple years. He made a comment about the organization when Tulo was moved. He knows when he's a FA to GTFO of Colorado.

He made a comment about the organization when Tulo was moved. He knows when he's a FA to GTFO of Colorado. Exactly. Bout to get expensive too. They are in full rebuild if you consider the pieces they got for Tulo. Their window reopens in 3 yrs. They'd be smart to trade Arenado now if they don't plan on shelling the cash down the line. That's why the Sox should send them a nice package of 2-3 yr out guys + EJ. Montas, Johnson, Micah & Anderson is a f***ing haul for any team. I don't know his perception around the league He is a throw-in at best. If he doesn't substantially improve he will be a strong non-tender candidate after the 2016 season. As another poster mentioned, by trading Tulo, their window is now 2-3 years away from what they think they can contend because of the players they acquired for him. They have about 5-6 of those guys that are in that time frame. One of which is 3B Ryan McMahon who is demolishing high A ball at the age of 20. I'd send them Davidson, who will provide a stop gap until McMahon gets there, and others to get Arenado and LeMehieu Edited August 26, 2015 by SoxPride18

GGajewski18
QUOTE (LDF @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 06:40 PM) no offense, but would you do that trade if you were Col?? also take in consideration, that that they don't have a serviceable 1 b and also need another of'er. the Col system doesn't have a whole lot to work with. Colorado's system is actually pretty good, they're just really young and are a few years (2-3) from contributing. I'd send Davidson, Micah, Montas, Danish, and Hawkins for Arenado and LeMehieu. If they want Anderson, I'd think about it.
