southsider2k5
This is the first reporter I have seen that mentioned Ventura NOT being safe. 7. White Sox A brief good stretch before the trade deadline convinced Chicago to keep going for it, rather than dealing Jeff Samardzija — and that now looks like a long-term mistake. The buildup with Samardzija, Melky Cabrera, Adam LaRoche and David Robertson did not work. The offense and defense have both been bad. GM Rick Hahn is believed safe, but Robin Ventura — despite being a favorite of owner Jerry Reinsdorf — is on unsteady ground. With a core of Jose Abreu, Chris Sale, Jose Quintana, Adam Eaton and Robertson, the White Sox are giving off the vibe they are going to try to refurbish and go for it again in 2016. Balta1701
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 03:05 PM) This is the first reporter I have seen that mentioned Ventura NOT being safe. My guess is it's nothing more than an assumption based on the fact that any other manager in a similar position would be on the hot seat. greg775
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 07:05 PM) This is the first reporter I have seen that mentioned Ventura NOT being safe. How can management go for it again next year with a lousy, sub .500 team that will have the same core group? It's not going to magically start beating the Royals and Tigers. You've got to at least change the manager. I think it's safe to say we're going to start next year as a continuation of this year without major changes in personnel and staff. I mean just our improved infield of Saladino, Lexi, Sanchez and Abreu is one of the worst hitting infields in all of baseball starting next season. Our catcher position is horrific offensively. Our DH is so bad it's laughable. And Melky is nothing special, Eaton is overrated and Avi is a question mark. The pitching is great; what else is new?? Fire Robin at least.
