Is Chris Sale the best pitcher that the Sox have ever had?

Recommended Posts

The way I look at Walsh v. Sale...

If Walsh took 1913 off as planned or had reduced his workload in previous years, we could be talking about one of the best pitchers of all time, not just the White Sox. For a seven year stretch he was other worldly.

And Chris Sale has a chance to surpass Walsh as the best pitcher in White Sox history. We're pretty lucky that that's a possibility.

Sale is by far the best pitcher I have seen in White Sox pinstripes.

Like a lot of us here, I feel like Buehrle might be more important looking back depending on how the rest of Sale's career turns out, but in terms of stuff and talent, it's Sale by a mile.

It all comes down to whether or not the White Sox are able or willing to pay him after this current contract.

They'll try to negotiate a new extension a la Longoria over the next year or so, I think.

This is sort of off-topic, but do you guys think that Danks will get into the HOF when he retires?

My friend said that he has a shot. I was laughing hysterically, but I was wondering if anyone thought the same.

Your friend is nuts.

How much and how long do you think they'd extend him for? We all know that his stuff will decline a little bit with age, so I wouldn't want him to become another Danks like contract.

This is a joke, right?

Like, does your friend know what the Hall of Fame is? Does he think baseball was invented ten years ago?
