BigEdWalsh
I really don't know. I just like to see predictions of those who know the minor league system better than I do.
Bigsoxhurt35
Erik Johnson, Micah Johnson, Davidson are my specific 3. I wana see some MLB ABs from Davidson. Let's evaluate some guys in a lost season. Take advantage of these ABs
oldsox
Probably a few minor league vets like Leury Garcia, Carroll, Brantley. They are all on the 40 Man, as are Junior Guerro and Montas. Not exactly a boatload of young, major league-ready prospects.
flavum
The Johnsons, Leury, Carroll, Webb off the DL, Brantly probably over Smith as a third catcher. I mentioned this before , but maybe they bring Brad Penny in as a nod....maybe he can give some knowledge...I know Rodon liked being around him. The full season teams end on September 7th. I kinda hope they wait until then. Baseball needs to address the roster rules for the last month of the season. They're completely antiquated in the 2nd wildcard era. Balta1701
QUOTE (oldsox @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 09:32 AM) Probably a few minor league vets like Leury Garcia, Carroll, Brantley. They are all on the 40 Man, as are Junior Guerro and Montas. Not exactly a boatload of young, major league-ready prospects. Barons currently have dropped out of the Southern League playoff spot they were holding so i could see Montas coming up and making a bullpen appearance or two. He would get murdered at the major league level.
Buehrle>Wood
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 05:21 PM) The fascination with Davidson is bizarre. He would get murdered at the major league level. Seriously. No reason to call him up. Getting Saladino mlb at bats is much more important since he can actually be apart of the future, even if on the bench.
thxfrthmmrs
Hard to believe that Leury is only 24, actually a few months younger than Micah.
oldsox
QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Aug 30, 2015 -> 09:52 AM) Hard to believe that Leury is only 24, actually a few months younger than Micah. Leury surprised a lot of people this year, hitting close to .300 at Charlotte.
Y2Jimmy0
I think it'll be Matt Davidson, Micah Johnson, Leury Garcia, Rob Brantly, Erik Johnson, Frankie Montas, Zack Phillips, and Scott Carroll. I'm wondering if the Sox move anyone before Tuesday. (Soto, Beckham, Albers)

BlackSox13
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 30, 2015 -> 05:54 PM) I bet he's coming up still. I'll take that bet. Davidson is barely batting over .200 at Charlotte and the Sox infield is plenty crowded already. There's literally no point in calling Davidson up. Bigsoxhurt35
I just want to see Davidson. I know he's a poor hitter but Saladino isn't lighting it on fire.

LDF
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 31, 2015 -> 06:14 AM) But he has 20 HRs. i wouldn't be surprise to see him up. just to see if he can handle big league pitching. then again, he is suppose to get his swing redone. so maybe not. BlackSox13
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 31, 2015 -> 12:14 AM) But he has 20 HRs. He also has 184 strike outs in 133 games against AAA pitching this year and a .653 OPS. Davidson has done absolutely nothing to deserve a callup. He would be worse than LaRoche. cabiness42
Carroll, both Johnsons, Brantly and Leury. Probably Beck if Putnam isn't going to come off the DL as soon as he's eligible.
bjm676
I wouldn't mind seeing Davidson, either. It it's a complete disaster, then maybe he can play for Schaumburg Boomers next year.
BigEdWalsh
QUOTE (LDF @ Aug 31, 2015 -> 03:57 AM) i wouldn't be surprise to see him up. just to see if he can handle big league pitching. then again, he is suppose to get his swing redone. so maybe not. For two years he hasn't handled AAA pitching very well. I don't think we need to see if he can handle mlb pitching. I would be very surprised to see him called up and very disappointed as there are players who actually deserve a call up.
GreenSox
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 31, 2015 -> 09:01 AM) Carroll, both Johnsons, Brantly and Leury. Probably Beck if Putnam isn't going to come off the DL as soon as he's eligible. I'll go with all of those but Carroll. No point in bringing up AAAA players. fathom
M. Johnson not playing tonight. Unless he hurt himself from whiffing so much yesterday, I assume he's on a plane to Minnesota.
