DBAHO
Only Mulder's pitched more complete games this year than Bartolo. U gotta say that's impressive. He could quite easily have won a few more games too such as the San Fran. game where he gave up about 5 runs? in the 9th and the Boston game where he got no run support despite throwing a perfect game. I mean he must be good if he won 10 games pitching for Cleveland last year, and then 10 games for the Expos. Mulder would prob be da 1 pitcher I'd want on this team though. Chicago native, lefty, young, nasty splitter as well.
Guest Ncorgbl
Different result, same effort einstein. Feel free to b**** about his results, but the effort has ALWAYS been there. Different result, different effort, . Feel free to be in denial, but when he says it, his teammates say it, and his manager said it, I'll belive them. Prior to tonight's game, he hasn't shown up or stepped up from the 1st inning on. :dips*** No, as opposed to blindly accepting someone who obviously was not making a full effort. Should I suppose you were a Royce Clayton fan because he wore the Sox uniform as well? Yes i was. That says it all.

Capn12
I'm pretty sure its safe to say that we all root for all the guys in Sox unis. I personally have been a non-Colon fan for quite some time, but it is noce to see him getting it done right now. We have had quite a few boneheads in Sox unis, and although we rooted for them based on their team affiliation, its safe to say that ALL of us have certain "players" that we are not fans of. I think NOlivo is about as effective as Mark Johnson at the plate, but I still support him because of that Sox emblem. Right now, I'd have to say that Jonny G. could be the true unsung hero. He has had quite a string of quality starts, and that coming out of the #4 spot is invaluable. Now if only we could find the elusive #5..... YASNY
There are two ways you can look at the performance of Bartolo Colon this year. One, he was lazy early. Not bringing his A-game every time out and therefore hurt the club. Or two, he paced himself for the long haul, and now that it's cruch time, he's stepped it up and is being the ace we all thought he'd be. I know this much... his last 4 starts: New York, Boston. Minnesota, Boston again... we're ace-like performances against the top echelon of the A.L. Colon is 8-3 with a 2.62 earned-run average in his last 11 starts. That's a pitcher that has kicked it in gear for the second half and stretch run. He's stepped it up in the clutch. And I'm glad he's wearing silver & black. He's stringing together a nice series of MONSTER performances & I couldn't be happier with him. I'd rather have a guy start slow & finish strong then a guy who starts fast & fades in the stretch. southsider2k5
3 straight complete games. I don't think anyone on our staff could even dream of stringing together the stretch that Colon has done for us. He has kept us right there while others have struggled in the big games... Well look at it this way, Nuke, it gave you something to post dumb about, again.
