Jose Abreu
Ventura on Rodon: "If he does or doesn’t win rookie of the year, doesn’t mean anything about what’s going to happen next year." What are Rodon's ROY chances? His main competition, I'd say, is Correa of Houston, but he has cooled off a bit. Granted, he's still at .273/18/52 in just 85 games. Rodon is 7-6 with a 3.94 ERA/3.85 FIP entering tonight's start. His 1.76 ERA since 8/11 is the lowest in the American League and 5th-lowest in majors. FWIW, if you take out his two terrible outings (vs PIT/STL) he has a 3.12 ERA. Abreu was the 2014 AL ROY. Could Rodon win it in 2015? YouCanPutItOnTheBoardYES!
Correa, Lindor, and Sano all have a better chance to win than him sadly. But that doesn't discount what he's done this year. He's had a hell of a season, and he's improved so much from when he started. I can't wait to see how he does in a full season next year. Sox Fan In Husker Land
He won't win it, but his last 7 outings including tonight have been awesome. At a time when most rookies pitchers hit the wall he is performing his best. 48 2/3 IP. 9 ER. 33 H. 16 BB. 45 K. 1.66 ERA. 1.00 WHIP. 8.32 K/9. greg775
Oops I commented in the game thread, didn't see this. Lindor has to win it. He's too special. But Rodon ... my gosh what a talent. He's a fixture in our rotation for 15 years if he stays healthy. I can't understand how we don't win more with Sale, Rodon, Q and a Danks who was definitely an average big league starter this year. Robin had "some" talent to work with this year. We're a little lefthanded heavy though. I'd sign a veteran starter, one of those guys who get two year deals at 6-8 mill a year and trade one of our lefties.

He'll be gone as soon as he hits free agency with Boras as his rep .

Kyyle23
Rodon will be in the rotation through the Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, and Clinton kid administrations!
YouCanPutItOnTheBoardYES!
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 20, 2015 -> 07:52 AM) Rodon will be in the rotation through the Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, and Clinton kid administrations! But seriously, I'd be extremely happy if the Sox could lock him up for the next decade and a half. I don't see that happening though. Bob Sacamano
QUOTE (Mike F. @ Sep 20, 2015 -> 09:39 AM) But seriously, I'd be extremely happy if the Sox could lock him up for the next decade and a half. I don't see that happening though. Yeah he won't take a team-friendly extension with Boras as his agent and the Sox never give out big contracts to pitchers. BlackSox13
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 20, 2015 -> 02:20 AM) 15 years? He'll be gone as soon as he hits free agency with Boras as his rep . We still get to enjoy Rodon for six more seasons and at the end the Sox get a comp pick so there's that. Hell of a stretch Rodon is having! He's come such a long long way in a short period of time. He's done an incredible job of limiting his walks. bjm676
he will help soften the blow, if they do in fact trade Quintana.

And I love how RISP doesn't even phase him now compared to when he was Mr. Mustache in the bullpen.
