The AL Central is pitiful

It seems like the Sox and the Twins are playing a game of hot potato where no one wants to get first place. It's like the two teams don't wanna make the playoffs. White Sox take the first 2 from the Twins at home, Twins take the last two. White Sox lose to a very good team, Twins lose to a very bad team....I just don't get it. Some team will have to step up and take 1st place, but can a team that wins a division with possibly 84 wins make it deep in October???? It's not likely, which is why I'm kind of upset right now. I hope the White Sox go with a 4 man rotation and get the bats going. I think it's our managers fault though, you don't throw Dan Wright instead of Mark Buehrle or Bartolo Colon against the Red Sox. You just have to have common sense. I think a die hard White Sox fan would manage better than Manuel. Bringing in Koch was ok, letting him stay in with the bases full was not....I'm sick and tired of Jerry Manuel. The Sox better go out and get a better manager this off-season. They HAVE to.

It's a football term that MLB has now achieved called 'parity'.

Look at all the divisions, even the Yankees can't shake the Red Sox. The only two blow outs are the Giants and the Braves. There are a full 12 teams, 12 cities, 12 markets that are in the hunt for a playoff spot inthe middle of September. It's a great race in our division with 3 teams competeing, and don't count KC out just yet. I think it'll go down to the last week and be an edge of the seat, nail biting, totally frustrating exciting baseball to the end, with 'musical chairs' for 1st place. Not for the faint of heart!

I guess I'm still a baseball purist. I want the 2 divisions, 2 leagues structure back. f*** parity  :headbang :lolhitting

I go back to the two 8 team leagues.

Even though we'd all like the Sox to dominate, just kill everyone all the way to a World Series championship, but from a pure baseball fan's perspective, this is a race that goes back to those days of real competition.

I'm with ya there. Seems like neither of these teams really wants it at all. Seems to me like the winner of this division will be the team that just a little bit less apathetic than the other.

The AL Central has the two hottest teams in all of baseball since the all star break.  No one wants to play the Twins or Sox right now.

That's very true. It's amazing that anyone could think the division is pitiful with the two hottest teams leading it.

The term "Comedy Central" applies to BOTH Central divisions.

True. But with the AL Central you have three teams contending, Cleveland capable of playing spoiler, and Detroit  .

But with the NL Central you have three teams contending, Cincinnatti and Pittsburgh which had fire sales and are now, for all intents and purposes, Detroit. And there's Milwaukee

True that the Sox and Twins are hot in the 2nd half.

Also true that both had AWFUL first halves.

Also true that NONE of the teams in contention in either Central division would be higher than 3rd in any other division in MLB.

Sounds pitiful to me, since the season isn't chopped into two equal halves.

I agree that middle to bottom ( is there really a TOP in either division? :D ), the NL Central is worse than the AL Central.

At least none of the AL Central teams gutted themselves willingly this season.

I don't agree. I think that the head to head play within the division has been more competitive than others, contributing to the leaders having poorer W-L records than the other divisions.

Not really. The Tigers have been owned by the Royals and Twins. The Royals have also owned Cleveland. The Royals would be a .500 team if they were in the east or west. The Twins would be a .500 team if they didn't play the Tigers. The Sox are the only one of the top 3 who haven't feasted on the bad teams in this division, instead they have beaten up on the good teams in the Central.

What is the Sox record against the Twins and KC?

The Sox are 9-7 against the Twins and 7-5 against the Royals.
