YouCanPutItOnTheBoardYES!
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 03:12 PM) The Cubs wouldn't have even taken Schwarber if Rodon had been on the board at their pick. That's what I said a few posts up. There is no doubt in my mind that they would've preferred Rodon. Unfortunately, Schwarber worked out for them too. OmarComing25
QUOTE (Mike F. @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 03:14 PM) That's what I said a few posts up. There is no doubt in my mind that they would've preferred Rodon. Unfortunately, Schwarber worked out for them too. Bit too early to say that these moves worked out for both Rodon and Schwarber. Still a lot that could happen.
Flash Tizzle
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 02:01 PM) Why? If he had any defensive value then I could understand it, but he can't hit lefties and would be our DH. After his hot start he's hitting .159/.278/.402 in his last 30 games with 40 Ks. The White Sox should regret about a lot of moves these last few years, but drafting Rodon is not one of them. Even considering our offensive struggles and Schwarber's potential. We should actually be appreciative Houston and Miami gave us no other premier (at that time) pitcher to choose from.
Soxfest
QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 01:59 PM) Honestly I'd probably take Schwarber over Rodon. No way I still like Rodon better long term.
caulfield12
If Rodon pitched for the Cubs, he'd be 3rd-6th. The pedestrian numbers the first half of the year caused a lot of writers to go to sleep on him and they're only just noticing his numbers again now since everyone ignores the White Sox (of course, you make the same arguments for ignoring the Twins and Indians as well).
