The shooter asked everyone their religious beliefs, but apparently it had nothing to do with who he ended up shooting or not shooting in the end.

He also deliberately shot someone in a wheelchair, so there's not much of a pattern here to be seen...even the one witness/hostage who was spared has no clue why he chose him to leave a message for the police.

This wasn't one of those cases like in Nairobi, Kenya, two years ago where Somali militants were killing all "infidels" who couldn't quote from the Koran/Quran.

From what I read if the people responded 'Christian', he shot them in the head, others he shot more to wound. if that is the case, they yeah, he singled out Christians.

His mother stockpiled guns fearing Obama was going to take them.

Appears that all the guns were purchased legally.

I clicked every link there, and all you have to back that up is one person saying the mom said this. They mention Facebook posts but no links. Have you seen anything to back this up other than hearsay?

Hard to make out what is really going on here, but it does seem he was pretty anti-religion in general, not to mention pretty messed up in the head.

Nice try....though. More were interested in science/New Age/mysticism. Only two of the nine could be described as Christian. If he deliberately tried to wound but not kill 78% of the victims, pretty sure we would have heard something by now.

Nothing like using "the friendly atheist" as a source...

Like their methodology. "He liked george Takai, so he wasn't Christian'. Funny.

Can't get the sound here at work, but I wasn't disputing the amount of guns, nut more the motivation behind buying them. In the other links, nothing says that she bought them because she feared confiscation, except one woman who says she said that, and facebook posts they reference but don't link. I am not saying she didn't feel that way, asking if there was proof other than one person's word. And fyi, just about every gun owner thinks confiscation is out there somewhere, because it is. What do you think 'laws like Australia' is code for?

I guess my point was this was another situation where the person had access to legally purchased guns (much like the Sandy Hook shooter). More/tougher guns laws doesn't seem to be the answer, although I don't know what is.

We don't know who the "bad guys with guns" are until after they've already done something like this.

What evidence is there that Christians were the only ones shot in the head and all others were just wounded/spared?

Because of the woman in the wheelchair?

There's far from any consistency to this theory across multiple testimonies.

I didn't say there was evidence, Isaid I read a story where that was claimed, and IF that was true, they were singled out. I then laughed at your story trying to claim they weren't which used such wonderful logic as 'he like George Takai, so he can't be Christian'. That link didn't disprove anything.

I thought it was impossible to shoot to wound, that's why police officers always kill people who they are moderately afraid of

When you are standing still, pointing your gun at people you lined up against a wall, sure, you can do it. When you are chasing a suspect down a street at full speed and he stops to shoot at you, not a chance. You aim for center mass. Nice try, though.

And yet the fact remains that no more than 2 of the 9 victims have been publicly identified by ANY sources as Christian.

Logically, he's either really bad at shooting just to injure or there are a whole lot of families hiding under a bushel basket the faith of their loved ones.
