Would it be wrong for me to say that Sale is the most valuable pitching asset on the trade market when you factor in his age and salary/contract?

http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2015-trade-...-the-full-list/

Fangraphs has him as the #1 pitcher in trade value, followed by Archer, Cole, Gray, and Bumgarner. Quintana is the 14th pitcher on the list.

and in my biggest opinion, i really think the sox should start of extending his contract for an additional 5 yr and pay him and tie him up.

Q is 14.... i really didn't see that one coming. good for him.

If Hahn did plan on extending Sale, what kind of contract would he give him? 7 years and $150 million?

Maybe if they could re-work his contract so he makes decent amount more each year the remainder of the current contract and then bought more free agent years on top of it.

He has no reason to do them any favors though.

I really like that idea.

Maybe they could give him $5 million more a year if he agrees to extend his deal through 2021 or 2022.

Good thinking. :)

no offense, but that i do not believe will happen. he will get his money... if he waits and no raises. starting at 30 mil.

I still have this slight hope in my mind that Sale could be a White Sox lifer, but I'm not counting on it.

It'd be awesome if it happened though.

same here, it like have always wanted mark burlhe to be a lifer.... money and shortsightedness on the owners.

Oh yeah I know know it won't happen. That would be the only chance. We've been terrible, he took low pay once from us, no reason for him to do us any favors.

No offense to Buehrle, but from a pure talent standpoint, I believe that Sale is much, much better.

I'd go as far as to say that Sale is one of the best pitchers to ever wear a White Sox uniform.

Yeah Sale is much better than Buehrle but Buehrle was still loved here and very consistent.

Plus I loved that Buehrle's starts would be around 2 hours (went to a game once that ended up being about an hour 40 mins haha)

be careful there.... know your sox pitchers and sox history.

with that general ref there would have to have some stipulation and parameters to make an list of who qualifies.

but i am like you at this time. he is a true #1 elite sp.

At least for me, it's hard to compare Sale to the old timers (Walsh, Lyons, Faber, etc) because I never saw those guys play.

Not to mention that the game was completely different back then.

but that was the beauty of talking baseball on the street corner and talking about the greats on your team.

in the heat of a summer day, waiting for someone to turn on the fire hydrant and talking baseball. but then again all i talk was smack and how the sox would kick the northside arse.
