Odor rounded second on a base hit . Bautista threw behind him and he got back safely but his foot kind of recoiled back off the base as tag was being applied. Looked out but called safe and call not overturned. Then a single scores him in the top of the 14th. Would've been the 3rd out .

Now DeSheilds gets an infield hit to score another run and it's 6-4 Texas . Jays in deep trouble.

I feel like the teams centered around "elite offenses" rarely succeed in the playoffs.

During the season you face so many more #3, #4 and #5 starters, middle relievers, etc. When only the top starters & relievers are playing and they take every at-bat seriously, suddenly the top offenses lose some of their advantage.

Gotta agree here. Remember when the 2000 team scored a ton of runs during the season and couldn't hit to save their lives in the playoffs?

The offenses with big power bats usually don't hit anywhere near as well as they do in the regular season. It's the teams that hit consistently that get it done in the playoffs.

Looks like Brett Cecil is going to miss the rest of the postseason. Would be nice if Mark Buehrle was able to take his spot on the roster.

NO BUEHRLE: Jays add Ryan Tepera to playoff roster to replace the injured Brett Cecil.

Great point. Pitchers dominate the postseason it seems. It's particularly strange because it feels like hitting and defense play a huge role in getting you to the postseason. It's just so baseball.
