chw42
I thought the Astros needed at least one of those runs they stranded in the bottom of the 7th. Looks like they really do now.
caulfield12
Shades of the comeback late in the wild card game last year. Pretty damned improbable. Sipp hadn't given up a hit in 3 1/3 ip before this game.
caulfield12
Shades of Tony Graffanino ten years ago against the White Sox....
nitetrain8601
I'd go squeeze if I were them. Too late now. Butera sucksssssss.
pettie4sox
QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 03:30 PM) I'd go squeeze if I were them. Too late now. Butera sucksssssss. He drew a walk. He did his job.
caulfield12
If the Astros do lose this game, not going to Josh Fields there will be questioned a lot.
chw42
Why is Gregorson still out of the windup? If Hosmer wasn't running at third, they would have tried to squeeze twice already.
chw42
Well looks like that's game. What a choke job by the Stros.
nitetrain8601
QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 03:37 PM) Well looks like that's game. What a choke job by the Stros. I don't think so. I'm calling at Correa homer if they only end up down 1.
BigHurt3515
QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 03:37 PM) Well looks like that's game. What a choke job by the Stros. Astros can easily score a couple runs but they have really overused their 3 main guys in the bullpen.
caulfield12
Hosmer scored the winning run last year from third...against the very same Luke Gregorson, pitching for the A's, last year, in the WC game, after Lester blew that same four run lead late in the game. Baseball is some crazy s---. Should have used Fields!!! KC has batted around this inning. Edited October 12, 2015 by caulfield12
pettie4sox
Seems like Astros have just overused their bullpen.
chw42
You'd think Hinch would have brought in someone who had better stuff than Gregerson. He has no issues getting ahead, but he just can't put these guys away.

BigHurt3515
QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 03:42 PM) Wade Davis though. Has he never let up a run before?
caulfield12
Getting a six out save isn't going to be easy. HR hitters up and down the Astros' line-up. Pretty sure nine in double figures and two more with nine homers.
nitetrain8601
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 03:46 PM) Getting a six out save isn't going to be easy. HR hitters up and down the Astros' line-up. Pretty sure nine in double figures and two more with nine homers. Well, the only negative is that Gattis and Carter are out. chw42
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 03:45 PM) Has he never let up a run before? He pretty much didn't in the regular season. He's given up 17 runs in his last 130 innings.
caulfield12
The crazy thing is going from making plans for flights/tickets to Toronto or Dallas one minute...the next, you're staring playoff elimination in the face with Cueto pitching at home versus Kazmir. KC will be more jacked up than Wrigley if that happens. Swinging from Houston/Texas grudge match to KC/StL possibilities for a World Series in a matter of less than thirty minutes. Royals' starters with a 6.27 era this series in four games. Edited October 12, 2015 by caulfield12

caulfield12
I hope you didn't bet that house, Greg. If you did, don't jump off the roof. Would be Davis' first two inning save of the year. Did it four times last year. Young players on the Astros coming unhinged, throwing equipment around out of frustration. This is where you need an experienced manager with a steady hand who doesn't flinch.
