I said from the beginning of the playoffs that the Cardinals would lose to either the Cubs or Pirates in the DS. They're just too banged up and pretty much all of their pitchers overachieved their peripherals. I just hoped the Cubs would crap themselves under the pressure their fans create. Looks like that didn't exactly happen.

I'm hoping they crap themselves against the mets.

Complained about the ball. Lackey already had it on the mound. And the ump had to come out to him to replace it.

Ah yes, the whole "he's cheating, it's the only way we can lose" argument from Game 1.

First baseball series win to occur in the city of Chicago in 108 years.

I can't believe this is actually true. We didn't clinch any of our series at home in 2005.

Cubs clinched the DS in Atlanta in 2003 as well.

I'm thinking that they will. The Mets starting pitching is way stronger than the Cardinals depleted rotation at this point and I think the argument could be made that the Mets offense is better too.

The Cubs are in trouble.

And believe it or not, the Mets actually have a decent offense.

Cespedes, Wright, d'Arnaud, Duda, Granderson, Conforto all with good power.

So glad we didnt trade for Cespedes. Clearly hasnt impacted the Mets at all.

John Lackey at 36 years old is the Cardinals "ace" right now. The Mets have arguably 4 or 5 starters that are better than Lackey. Hell, Bartolo might be better than him and he's in their bullpen right now.

The Cubs pitching staff is going to have to man up ASAP because they won't hit 6 homers and score 8+ runs a game against the Mets pitching staff. They'll be lucky to get 3 or 4 runs a game.

Can't wait to watch Addison Reed again and pray he doesn't hang a slider :)

Cubs are 7-0 against the Mets. They should be favored.

Put it this way...Lackey sucked pitching in a postseason game against Chicago....against the Sox in 2005

That was also with Mets not having Wright, Cespedes and D'Arnaud. Most of those games were low scoring, and you have to think with the offensive improvements, the Mets would have won a few of those.

I still think there is something wrong with Arrieta and now Hammell?

In the NL long term the Mets are pretty stacked going forward and I would say they have a better long term outlook than the cub.

Depends if the Cubs go out and buy blue chip pitching, which they can certainly do because they're paying nothing to these rookies.
