He could be dead and still be better than Robin Ventura.

I can't speak to how they are in the clubhouse but from a strategic standpoint Matheny is very possibly the worst in baseball. In a game that is about matchups he doesn't understand matchups at all.

The cringe-worthy thing about reading many posts on here, is that if the sox ever go back to the playoffs, people on here would be making excuses for the the people that are being accused of being bandwagoners. If someone is happy about their team winning, than who cares? Do we have nothing better or important to worry about than people being happy over a team winning? In the end, who cares its just a game. It's not like they're the first team to ever have bandwagon fans. Literally every team in the postseason does.

Can't these people wait until they beat the dodgers or mets to say stuff like this?

You'd think for a fanbase who has seen so much losing and so many postseason collapses, they would, you know, be more discrete and superstitious about all of it.

I tried getting into hockey the year before they won it all. Really liked Havlat.

Oh well.

I'll pull for them but won't claim to be a fan/die hard, but you're right. I could probably name more players than most bandwagoners.

I kinda jump on the Blackhawks bandwagon every time they're in the playoffs, but I'm not gonna act like I've been there the whole time or tell opposing teams' fans to suck it.

Ageee. Wait to beat them first haha

I don't remember many articles about the Sox going to the WS after we swept the ALDS in 2005. Hell, World Series talk didn't really start until after game 4 of the ALCS, when it was pretty evident the Sox had the series in the bag.

Yeah idk. Probably has more to do with them being so irrelevant lately whereas the sox for the most part have had a competitive team (minus last 3 years and like 2007). I guess you can say we were held at at a higher standard where winning is just expected of us?

I actually think the media has been pretty similar. The little things that bother me now, probably bothered die hard Cubs fans 10 years ago. But there is still hope for a Cubs loss.

Many of the same people excusing emptying of the bandwagon, are the ones upset with bandwagon fans coming back in better days. Take their money and be happy.

Speaking of wooing, is Ronnie Woo Woo still around?

He lives in a retirement home on LaSalle and Division. I see him around every so often in full Cubs uniform. I haven't seen him in a couple of weeks. He wears a helmet to funerals.
