2016 season predictions

Hey guys,

In the dark and cold days of the offseason (yes, I know some teams are still playing but the Sox aren't, so it feels like the offseason to me), I figured this would be a nice discussion to pass some time. How do you think the 2016 White Sox will fare next season? Feel free to post predictions for individual players or the team in general. Here are some of mine:

Chris Sale - 15-8, 2.59 ERA, 259 K's

Jose Quintana - 11-9, 3.28 ERA, 182 K's

Carlos Rodon - 13-10, 3.40 ERA, 195 K's

Adam Eaton - .292, 200 H, 13 HR, 52 RBI

Jose Abreu - .302, 184 H, 33 HR, 105 RBI

Adam LaRoche - .253, 143 H, 17 HR, 61 RBI

Sox team record - 83-79

I might post some more later, but those are a few off of the top of my head. Thanks for the read.

Impossible to say or think anything right now. No trades have been made, no free agent or rule 5 signings.

Some of the guys you mentioned might not be with the club in two months, who can tell right now?

Let's wait and see after the winter meetings... than if the reports are true that the Sox think they are close and will basically stand pat, something can be 'predicted.'

So everyone improves and you're banking on just about the best case scenario from those guys?

Pretty much lol. I'm just trying to be optimistic at this point. Like I said, I'll make more in-depth predictions at a later time. I just posted a few off of the top of my head.

White Sox baseball is my hobby, man. Sorry if you got a problem with that.

I like the optimism but yeah, way too early. But on the other hand it's a lot better than imagining Hanley Ramirez coming to the Sox. I'd go so far as to predict the Sox don't make any deals that pick up another teams failed high priced losers. Right now the most optimistic I can be is that LaRoche retires and forfeits his salary for next year and they move on from Alexei and keep Q or somehow move him for a King's ransom.

Robin Ventura and/or the new bench coach's tactical skills will be questioned the first week of the season.

Someone else will say you can't expect champagne performance on a beer budget...that we won't be able to accurately assess Robin until the end of 2017 at the earliest.

You can bet the house on that.

I truly hate to always be a dick and can't wait for the Sox to be good again, but LaRoche is not gonna hit 17 home runs. That ship has sailed. I predict he'll hit .213 with 7 home runs and 32 RBI. Ugh.

It may be possible. I think a veteran NL player needs time to adjust to AL pitching.

There is no adjustment. Increased interleague play has taken care of that, plus all the FA and trade movements, same umpires, etc. American league is just the superior hitting league right now.

I disagree. Interleague play may be a third of the season. We don't fair well with NL players who've spent most of their career in NL. They need to stop. AL and NL baseball is night and day IMO.

Predictions? It will look just like 2015 did. As long as management remains the same, from KW down to Ventura--why would anybody think things would get better?

This team needs a Cubs-like management purge. Until that happens, I have little hope for success.

Yeah, this thread was just revived for some reason. We don't even know what the 2016 roster will be like.

My point is that it won't matter what the roster looks like when you still have this management team. Start there, and then worry about a roster.
