Buehrle>Wood
I was typing out hell no when I realized I'd rather have him then Avisail Garcia.
BlackSox13
Nah, rather give Thompson the atbats to see what more he has to offer. If the Sox didn't have LaRoche, I could see interest in Brown.
BlackSox13
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 03:12 PM) I was typing out hell no when I realized I'd rather have him then Avisail Garcia. Ya know, since you put it that way, Brown sounds more interesting all of the sudden.
Dick Allen
There really is no reason to like Brown more than Garcia.
shysocks
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 03:12 PM) I was typing out hell no when I realized I'd rather have him then Avisail Garcia. Debating those two would be like arguing douche vs. turd, but I would rather have Avi.
LittleHurt05
I think it would be worth it just to count how many teams please misspell his first name Dominic or Dominick or Dominicks.
daggins
for Charlotte, sure. Maybe he ends up a late bloomer, but I can't see him getting an MLB deal this offseason.
Eminor3rd
Left-handed Avi. He won't sign just to be stashed in Charlotte, so it won't work. Aim higher.
Hamhock
I'll say this much about Dominic; his one very good season (2013) directly coincided with Wally Joyner being the Phillies assistant hitting coach, and Wally worked extensively with him throughout that year. When Wally left the Phillies at the end of 2013, so did Dominic's production.
Eminor3rd
QUOTE (Hamhock @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 09:26 AM) I'll say this much about Dominic; his one very good season (2013) directly coincided with Wally Joyner being the Phillies assistant hitting coach, and Wally worked extensively with him throughout that year. elrockinMT
I think having a healthy Avisail Garcia with some learning experience time will work out for the Sox. He has a ton of talent and I think he is willing to do what is necessary to improve as a player. Why throw him out to pick up a castoff? Plus I think Trayce Thompson may very well be in contention as the 4th OF'er or a starter, if the team moves around, or changes, the DH role
Kyyle23
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 11:24 AM) I think having a healthy Avisail Garcia with some learning experience time will work out for the Sox. Plus I think Trayce Thompson may very well be in contention as the 4th OF'er or a starter, if the team moves around, or changes, the DH role Because Avisail is starting to look like a castoff himself
Quin
Anyone know if Avi has any options left? He might need the Erik Johnson rehab program.
shysocks
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 12:08 PM) Anyone know if Avi has any options left? He might need the Erik Johnson rehab program. Pretty sure he has options. He doesn't show up on this list of out-of-options guys from the start of 2015, and he didn't spend any time in Charlotte last year, so. southsider2k5
As a low cost option, spring training invite, for the OF? Sure. For a starting job? No.
GreenSox
QUOTE (JolietThunder @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 03:04 PM) Is Domonic Brown worth picking up? http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/10/phil...onic-brown.html No. He is worse offensively and defensively than Avi, not to mention melky. Heck he's worse than Viciedo. Sox need athleticism Edited October 21, 2015 by GreenSox
harfman77
If they can move LaRoche, Brown would make a decent buy low DH candidate.
