Bigsoxhurt35
QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 27, 2015 -> 11:08 PM) Go look at his rookie card in 97 and pictures of him with the Indians. Even during his first stint with the Sox, he was in much better shape than he is now. Just seems like he's been a big guy since I can remember lol

pettie4sox
Might need to sub Wright for a defensive replacement.

chw42
Colon just doesn't have the stuff to really strike people out anymore. You knew the Royals were going to make contact. Granderson made one hell of a throw though.
pettie4sox
QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 28, 2015 -> 12:19 AM) Colon just doesn't have the stuff to really strike people out anymore. You knew the Royals were going to make contact. Granderson made one hell of a throw though. Wright had RBI opportunities and allowed two baserunners to reach; one which was the winning one. flavum
Awesome moment for Gordon. Great game by Chris Young. Some good defensive plays...a couple bad plays. Classic Game 1.
greg775
Great Game One for KC. Gordon homers off Familia to tie it in improbable fashion. Then a bunch of pitchers (Young was a true hero) keep KC in the game until they finally plate the winning run. Hosmer with the redemption. KC will take it. High Mileage
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 27, 2015 -> 11:24 AM) Also don't get it. You'd think someone like that would be a pinch runner, but Gore is one of the fastest players out there so it's not that. Guess Zobrist's injury is way way worse than thought? Zobrist's wife due in 10 days IIRC. Gore is one dimensionsal, and Mondesi is said to be very fast. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Oct 27, 2015 -> 06:13 PM) @High Milage: I've been a Chiefs fan on this board since 2004! Chiefs looking like the Bears QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Oct 27, 2015 -> 10:31 PM) So a guy with a Marlins jacket and a guy with a Dodgers hat....lol It's a KCFD hat. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 27, 2015 -> 11:19 PM) Young sucks. I think it's in their best interest not to start him. He's pitched very well this year. They signed him during Spring Training this year. League minimum. Edited October 28, 2015 by High Mileage
caulfield12
Well, KC has something of a dilemma now for Game 4. NY has Matz, the Royals had been planning to start Young (probably). That leaves them Duffy and Medlen to choose from, assuming that Guthrie's not on the roster (just checked, he's not). Or they can go to Young again when he threw 3 innings and 53 pitches. Since Game 4's on Saturday, presumably that three days of rest will be enough since he's not a high effort/velocity pitcher in the first place. He struck out 83 in 123.1 innings during the regular season. Young, who works with a fastball in the upper 80s and a slider, even touched 90 twice Tuesday night. It was the first time he's hit 90 MPH since 2009 according to FanGraphs. "It's the World Series," Young said. "If you were in the World Series you'd be throwing harder too." He's also still on schedule to pitch in Game 4 on three days rest, according to Yost. Young threw 53 pitches in his three innings Tuesday. "Our plan going into it was we could go 45 to 50 pitches with Chris and bring him back a day early, he'd be fine with that," Yost said. "Once it got to the 50-pitch mark, it was okay, we're going to go all out to win this game, and Chris is going to go as far as he could go, "But we ended up winning the ballgame in kind of our threshold there." www.yahoo.com/sports/mlb

Middle Buffalo
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 28, 2015 -> 12:58 AM) "It's the World Series," Young said. "If you were in the World Series you'd be throwing harder too." This is great.
flavum
When they had to cut to the International Feed when they had the power outage, did anyone else have a much better picture quality? They could have stuck with that all night, including Vasgersian and Smoltz.

caulfield12
Probably when Hosmer paid $3000 for a bar bill when drinking with all the Royals' fans in the Power & Light district after the Baltimore series win. http://www.hardballtimes.com/learning-the-...-the-clubhouse/ Part of it's because they mocked a cyber sabre geek who doesn't know how to act around modern day athletes without talking about war and fip and drs. Not surprisingly, the same happened to Lucas Mann when he covered the Clinton Lumber Kings for a year and wrote a book about it.
