Chisoxfn
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 1, 2015 -> 07:09 PM) I really am starting to wonder how many adults there are when 50% of the GOP is currently supporting candidates with basically no platform except "sticking it to the man" and not being politically correct but saying whatever first comes into one's mind without any filter or forethought. Of course, in this case, it's even more ironic because the man isn't "liberal Democrats" or hedge fund managers but the majority of the middle class who will suffer as a result from misguided policies. Do we really want someone like Trump or Carson or even Fiorina with the nuclear codes? And a staunch republican would counter that by saying, how many adults their are when people are basically voting for a full blown socialist and a semi socialist. Pendulum works both ways. That said, I have no idea what your post has to do with this thread.

Chisoxfn
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 09:52 AM) Who is the semi-Socialist? Hillary with Bernie being the full blown socialist. And I'm saying this from caufield stance with his pure liberal frame of mind and pointing out the main base of the repub's would imply what I just typed about Bernie / Hillary. NorthSideSox72
Not even Bernie is a full-blown socialist. His policies are actually pretty in line with Democrats from a few decades ago.

Do we really want someone like Trump or Carson or even Fiorina with the nuclear codes? Yes but who would you be comfortable with the nuclear codes? One person is always capable of using poor judgment. Trump's main goal in life is to be rich and enjoy life. He's not going to want a nuclear war and die a horrible death via nuclear war. I mean do you want Hilly with the codes? Any American is capable of going off the deep end. I'm still waiting for Hillary supporters to tell me why they support her? It's her name and the fact she's the first woman president. Cauflield that was a non-caulfield argument about Trump n Florina being in charge of the codes. Yes I'd rather have them be in charge than Hillary.

And I've also said at times this election cycle I would prefer Kasich, Rubio and possibly even Christie (but no more Bushes). Sanders on the Dem side, but that's just about the equivalent of Jesse Jackson in 1988 of actually happening. By not challenging her in the last debate, he demoted himself to continuous protest candidate, like Santorum over the last decade but with broader appeal and acceptance in his party. caulfield12
QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 11:30 AM) What does this have to do with the topic of this thread though? I was responding to jerksticks. At any rate, the war in this thread has temporarily ended with essentially two teachers looking at both sides of this latest incident. Personally, I have issues with obviously unarmed teens being assaulted in Plano or this particular situation...and the main argument being they're somehow equally responsible or culpable for over the top reactions of adult male officers in these situations. If those were daughters or nieces instead of random strangers, would they choose the same exact course/s of action?
caulfield12
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 04:58 PM) I am at a loss for how someone could support Kasich, Rubio and Sanders. Support might not be the right word. Resigned to Hillary, just because I don't believe she has inspirational qualities. That said, blind hope and inspiration isn't enough to get things done, either. There has to be some pragmatism and compromise and realism. Ms. Clinton in many ways is well suited for that particular environment. But getting past gridlock, vast right wing conspiracies and finding the Tea Party on her side...absolutely zero chance of that happening with all the baggage from the past she and her husband carry. My biggest reason is the Clinton Foundation has become a personal wealth vehicle (along with a plethora of well compensated speeches)...it's nothing close to pure charity, and, although you can certainly find fault with, for example, Gates' Foundation and mission of spreading MS gospel, it's still 50-75% closer to the mark. She's a rich, elitist, mean grandmother type. Replace mean with b----y person if you must. Can't believe she wants to be president at the age of 77 (second term). Crazy to me. Where there's smoke ... There's an awful lot of smoke around Hillary. Oh I forgot, her popularity rises when we look into her. She's untouchable of course. BTW if you want some awesome political impressions/humor do a youtube search of Dana Carvey. He has some good stuff on Bill Clinton returning to the White House. It's pretty damn funny. There's Carvey on Fallon's Tonight Show recently and another clip of Carvey at a Comedy Shop with Jon Lovitz. I forget which one did the Bill back in the White House getting sex from Hillary and others. Very funny. I'm serious. Youtube it for laughs. And don't say "My god, Greg thinks Dana Carvey is funny; what a troll. What an idiot." You watch it and tell me you didn't laugh out loud as I did. Comic genius.
