Don't expect any help from the Tigers

This team has officially tanked it. Their last two performances against the Royals were nothing short of pathetic, even for their standards. With 7 of their last 13 against the Tigers the Twins are absolutely in the drivers seat. It almost means the Sox have to sweep this upcoming series with the twinkies. It's really a rotten shame that this division will be decided because of the Twins having the luxury of playing the worst team in major league baseball history 7 stinking times to close the season.

No, whats a shame is that we might lose the division because we lost 8 times to the worst team in major league baseball history.

This team has officially tanked it.

No team with Trammel as its manager and Gibson has a coach has unofficially "tanked it", let alone "officially" having done so.

When the Tigers put out a press release announcing they have tanked it, I will believe it is official.

When Trammel and Gibson are fired, I will believe they have unofficially tanked it. And that isn't going to happen.

Until then, I will believe that this weekend they are doing their best and losing to a team that is fighting to win a championship and has more talent than the team fighting to not lose 120.

The only thing that matters is the Sox taking care of their own business and then it makes no difference what anyone else does. It is in the Sox grasp if they want it.

We'll be fortunate if the Tigers take 2 games from the Twins.

This three game set is critical. While we face the Yankees they get three games with Detroit.

It's going to be tight.

we are lucky if the Tigs take one from the twins --

but it is in our hands - we win our games, we don't need any help

we have Yankees at home - so at least we have that

I think Detroit will take one, they play them a ton so they're going to see all of there starters. You'd think they'd adjust and beat them once.

Than again this is Detroit. :lolhitting

I think I heard someone mention something like the White Sox lost 2 of 3 to a s***ty Washington team back in '67....or is that just me making things up off the top of my head?

Anyways, you're probably right, we shouldn't expect to see the Tigers put up a fight against the Twinkies....doesn't mean it won't happen now though does it?

We just gotta go out there and take care of buisness. I got an idea, how about we just win 13 in a row from here on out?

Sox got no right to say a word about the Twins' schedule

not after losing 8 games to that rotten team.

Not after that three-game series in July when the Sox huffed and puffed their way to THREE runs in THREE games.

They dug the hole.

They gotta dig out of it -- THIS WEEK.

As for the Tigers, we'll be lucky if they beat the Twins twice in seven game. I believe Minnesota has won 21 of its last 22 against Detroit.

Two or more will be a bonus.

One thing that does give the White Sox hope is White Sox history.

In 1967 they were locked in a four-way race against Minnesota, Boston and Detroit. With a week to go, I believe the Sox were a game out. But insiders were predicting the Sox would win it all because they had the easiest schedule.

So they lost the last five games of the season -- a twi-night doubleheader at Kansas City as well as a three-game series at home against the Washington Senators.

KC was the worst team in the 10-team AL with a final record of 62-99. Washington finished 76-85, tied for 6th.

The Sox ended up fourth, three games out.

As bad as KC and Washington were that year, they look like the 1927 Yankees compared to these Tigers.

How can you expect help from a team that is 38-110???

I don't see the Sox players thinking that they will get help from someone else. You can't go into a championship final push with that kind of an attitude anyway and I am glad to see we aren't falling into that trap. I think the Tigers will play as hard as their talent will allow them too. They have some decent young pitching which you hope will at lesat give the Twins a run for it. Indians are the same, but have more advanced youngsters and can make a game of it with any team.
