whitesoxjr27
BOCA RATON -- Though it's been speculated -- including in this blog -- don't expect Chicago Cubs catcher Miguel Montero to be on the move this offseason, at least according to Cubs President Theo Epstein. "We haven't talked about that at all," Epstein said Monday afternoon at the start of the general manager's meetings. "He was a big part of helping our run prevention last year. His framing, his pitch calling. We set a record for strikeouts, we were third in ERA. He was a big part of that. It's not something we're looking to disrupt at all." http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/cubs/post/...-miguel-montero
coco1997
I wondered a few times what difference it might have made had the Sox traded for Montero last offseason. Apparently we were one of the teams in on him.
dpd9189
I don't think the Cubs can really afford to trade him. Schwarber is an OF/DH and Ross is only on the team because of Lester. I did recently read that the Cubs have another good Catching prospect that will most likely be the team by year's end or 2017 so maybe Montero gets moved after this season.
