YouCanPutItOnTheBoardYES!
Is this really news? Rodon was the consensus top pick for a long time heading into the draft, but he fell for some reason to the Sox. I'm not complaining though. Buehrle>Wood
If Boras wasn't his agent, perhaps he would have been.
dpd9189
Didn't Rodon have a sluggish year his senior year at NC St? I thought that's why he fell to #3.
winninguglyin83
NC State went to College World Series during his sophomore year. the team did not perform as well during his junior year (2014) so his Won-Loss record was not as good (fell from 10-3 to 6-7) but his ERA as a junior was nearly 1 run per game better (down from 2.99 to 2.01). He did allow more hits per inning and had fewer strikeouts per inning. But I do believe he suffered because NC State has such an inexplicably bad year. Jose Abreu
I still remember watching him pitch on 3 day's rest during or right before the CWS, and he was straight-up dominant. I remember thinking "what would the Sox have to do to get this guy in a couple years?"
Dick Allen
They were calling the race for the worst record in 2013 the Carlos Rodon sweepstakes. He had a couple of rough outings his final season and people tend to outthink themselves and know with Boras , with Rodon as a junior with leverage, he is getting more than slot, so they go another direction and the White Sox wound up beneficiaries.
