elrockinMT
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 10:07 PM) Dan Hayes @CSNHayes 51s51 seconds ago Jeff Samardzija has rejected the #WhiteSox qualifying offer. Really had high expectations after the trade with the A's, but the Shark had no teeth. Just a huge disappointment. But, some of the so called baseball experts were not impressed with him and they turned out to be right. It will be interesting to see just what he gets in that $15.8M range he turned down as a QO amount.

Vance Law
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 02:39 PM) Don't jinx it. Edit: Though I don't think they will sign anyone who will cost a draft pick. Clearly you wouldn't want to sign Yoenis Cespedes, for example, if it meant having to give up a Josh Phegley 4 years away from playing in the majors. I'll be honest, I don't know what you mean since Cespedes has no free agent comp with him.

Bob Sacamano
This was discussed before but I don't remember if anyone confirmed it, but we will have the third pick after the first round. Padres get first 2 with Upton and Kennedy declining. We likely may have second since I am predicting Padres sign someone who will cost a draft pick. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/157232438/qu...dbpr=5768707450 This article explains the order. We have the ten pick and then possibly somewhere in the low-20s. Edited November 14, 2015 by soxfan2014
Boopa1219
I just posted this in the 2016 draft thread: Depending on what happens with the QO's they could have a pick before #30. Last year the #10 overall pick had a value of $3,231,300 and picks before #30 have a value of around $2M. The Sox could have about $7.1M to spend on their first four picks (First round, comp pick, second and third rounds) in the draft, going on the values from the 2015 draft. I'll say on the safe side that 6 teams lose 1st rounders. That gives them the 27th pick.
