justBLAZE
Appears he will be posted, why not resolve the 3B problem this way? Bid early, bid often.

GGajewski18
I read an article saying they don't think his power will translate to the MLB but he is a real strong defender.
ChiSox59
I'd rather give this guy a shot than sign David Freese.
Bob Sacamano
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Nov 24, 2015 -> 04:49 PM) I'd rather give this guy a shot than sign David Freese. Probably be cheaper too.

LDF
QUOTE (Special K @ Nov 24, 2015 -> 10:57 PM) Two words - Tadahito Iguchi. Let's do it. it all depends on the money, but why not make the bid. i can go either way on him. but with ref to the so called experts wondering on the power transfer, didn't they thought the same on J Abreu, Kang,
thxfrthmmrs
Might not be more than a utility guy. Looks like he has a strong arm and does play SS as well. But swing is long and a career .280 batting average in KBO isn't encouraging. Profiles as a power guy but only has one season with more than 20 HR's. ChiSoxFanMike
If he can can play rock solid defense and hit around .275 with 10 homers, I'd love to get him. He's younger and cheaper than Freese at the very least. He reminds me of Kang after watching that highlight video.

Doesn't have the track record Kang but with the Korean market still being so ripe I bet he will sign about as much or less as Kang. Would be worth the gamble. Whisox05
Sources: 3B Jae-gyun Hwang is expected to be posted by the Lotte Giants tomorrow. Teams would have until next week to place a blind bid. https://twitter.com/JeffPassan/status/669312536743837696

Teams would have until next week to place a blind bid. https://twitter.com/JeffPassan/status/669312536743837696 I think 4 or 5 teams may place a bid on him since none put a bid on Ah-Seop Son who had real good stats but had one more year of control left with the Lotte Giants and the same team can only post one player and ML teams probably more interested in Hwang. SCCWS
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 24, 2015 -> 06:31 PM) If he can can play rock solid defense and hit around .275 with 10 homers, I'd love to get him. But I think he won't get past .250. Then again this guy might not either. Pass on him and keep looking for a 3B with a solid bat and decent glove. pettie4sox
That guy hits some absolute bombs. I don't know how the KBO works but are their fields smaller than the ML stadiums?
BlackSox13
Agreed with those that say they would take him over Freese. Looks like a vaccum at 3B and even if his HR power doesn't translate, he has plenty of gap power and seems to find the gaps well. I hope the Sox make a serious bid on him. bmags
I don't have a good feeling about this guy from his stats, however, if we sign him I will be irrationally excited.
Special K
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Nov 25, 2015 -> 01:45 PM) Saladino might look x1000 better than himself facing Korean pitching. I like Saladino though. I like good fielders and smart/good base runners. I don't see Saladino hitting with the same power. This guy looks filled out, and demonstrated pretty good opposite field power (based on the very limited sample of the video). Saladino is a fine defender, though.
