flavum
Gotta wonder if something else is cooking. To rely on Avila or anyone else in the organization right now for 110+ games isn't likely.
Baron
QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 2, 2015 -> 05:47 PM) Why does the Rangers piece matter? Well they were close to trading for a catcher earlier today which was supposed to be a smaller piece that could affect this type of transaction(tender/nontender). http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/12/rang...up-catcher.html Edited December 2, 2015 by Baron

flavum
QUOTE (Knuckles @ Dec 2, 2015 -> 05:50 PM) Sale is next. First thing I thought...what does Sale think about all of this. Quite frankly, I think he'll be just fine after spring training.

Dick Allen
Assuming he doesn't sign a lesser contract and returns, Avi Garcia is now the longest tenured position player on the White Sox.
Bob Sacamano
People on here look waaaaaay to into the whole Flowers is his personal catcher thing. Sale will be fine. Honestly, they'll probably bring in a right handed hitting, defensive first catcher for cheap to be his backup. Cheaper than what Flowers would make it should say. GGajewski18
I am so happy that Flowers is gone. Quick question though, when you non tender someone, can you still resign him?

No, it's completely fair to wonder what Sale thinks of this move. He's the ace pitcher, and is highly complimentary of Flowers catching ability and pitch calling. He will be fine because it's Chris Sale, but I wouldn't doubt it if Sale was upset by this.

Quick question though, when you non tender someone, can you still resign him? I believe he can't come back now until May 1...if that's still the rule...or if I'm not confusing it with something else.
