I don't want to sound like Bernstein and make baseless rumors based on "sources" But hearing through my buddy that the main sticking point to this deal going through is that the Brewers want Anderson. I guess we will all find out soon enough

Ya well I bet

The Brewers don't need Tim Anderson as a shortstop prospect, they have Orlando Arcia coming up through their minor league system. They could be thinking about Anderson as a 2nd baseman. The Sox brass might also be thinking along those lines. If Anderson isn't going to be a major league shortstop, I think he becomes more tradable.

It's good to get rid of lousy players like Tyler, but ...

Is there the slightest chance he might have emerged in his third full season of full playing time? I would guess no other team will make him a regular, so he's probably done. He seemed like a guy with some ability. He hit some mammoth bombs, but mostly he was a strikeout machine. I wonder if it's lack of ability or if he was uncoachable. What I'm trying to say is it seemed like there was a "chance" he could be a .255, 20 HR guy.

@ChiTribKane: Tyler Flowers was surprised by White Sox cutting him. "It really still doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to go this route with it." But...

@ChiTribKane: But Tyler Flowers said maybe decision will make more sense when he hears next move. Either way, he expects a decent market for his services.

Our long national nightmare is over. More deadwood off the tree. Should have been done last year. We'll see how many teams are interested in a "pitch framing" stiff who can't hit, can't block balls or throw out base runners.

Thank God.

No guarantees they'll bring in anybody better but how could they find someone who is worse???
