knightni
Baez is pitiful; why is he worth Miller?

BigHurt3515
QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 12:39 AM) Baez is pitiful; why is he worth Miller? He isn't at all. I will believe it when I see it. How do you go from wanting Soler to settling on Baez?
Bigsoxhurt35
@BNightengale: The #Cubs say no deal! I'm going to bed lol we'll see if it's true or not

Bigsoxhurt35
@Joelsherman1: Being told there is no Shelby Miller-Javy Baez between #Braves and #Cubs, and that at this hour there is no deal close. Lol mods can delete this. Sorry guys. Thought it was legit

Bigsoxhurt35
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 01:47 AM) I win! Deal never made sense but since it was a beat writer I went with it
Kalapse
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 12:48 AM) Deal never made sense but since it was a beat writer I went with it It actually did if teams value Baez's defense as much as pundits/online scouts do. A lot of people were counting Miller out after his '14 season, saw that trade as a loss for the braves.
ChiliIrishHammock24
That would be a STEAL for the Cubs. Baez is such a lottery ticket at this point, you'd have to get another piece or two along with him for Miller, especially if the Dbacks are truly hot on his trail. No way Baez alone would beat something the Dbacks put together.
OmarComing25
Meh, Miller is overrated, his peripherals are not good, projected for an ERA over 4 by Steamer next year.

BlackSox13
The cubs need pitching and have the youth to trade that Atlanta is looking for so a trade makes sense for both teams. Miller would be a nice addition to the cubs rotation. I think Miller would pitch just fine for the cubs which means I really hope the trade doesn't happen. GreenSox
Millers a 3. But when you are ready to win and have a strong farm, you can make trades like this.
fathom
If trade does happen, what a terrible job by Braves GM of turning Simmons and Miller into Newcomb and Baez

TheFutureIsNear
I hope the Cubs do get Miller. That way Hahn has leverage on a Q trade to AZ. Bring back our new starting 3B + a starting OF along with a pitcher and all of a sudden the franchise is heading in a new direction and we still would have $ to spend Eaton LF Inciarte CF Upton RF Abreu 1B Melky DH Lamb 3B Avila/Navarro C Saladino SS Sanchez 2B
