Why does it matter? The changing of that little detail did nothing to alter the tone or purpose of the scene.

I never got why people were so upset.

I'm sorry but for someone that puts so much emphasis on producing and directing, to suddenly discount the impact of a certain direction of a scene is ridiculous. We are talking about a scene where a main character is essentially deciding to murder someone vs. acting in self defense. That's a big difference.

"Upset" is a little strong. It's just silly.

1) Han's not really on a redemption arc anymore because apparently he was never a gray character. Instead of killing someone to save his ass, it's self defense.

2) An experienced bounty hunter missing at point blank range is far-fetched.

3) There was no mention of Greedo firing in drafts of the original script, so why is Lucas denying it was ever written that way? It's just weird.

Wasn't the

"I love you"

"I know"

a thing that Ford improv'd as well?

Saw them all in the theater.

Original trilogy in 98 or so when they relaunched as special editions (had obviously already watched on VHS) and the second trilogy on opening nights.

Ditto...and somehow I'll continue that tradition on Friday when I see it in non 3D.
