Baron
Susan Slusser @susanslusser 5m5 minutes ago The #Athletics are in serious discussions with the #WhiteSox on a Brett Lawrie deal, a big league source tells me. https://twitter.com/susanslusser If this needs to be in other Lawrie thread I apologize

ChiliIrishHammock24
I hope that big league source is a dirty liar. Why do I have a sinking feeling that we will be seeing a Lawrie for Adams swap? or Lawrie for Danish and Trey?
Chisoxfn
New thread is perfect. Figured this was the more realistic route the sox would take. Curious who is headed the other way? Avi? Prospects?
BigHurt3515
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 11:47 PM) I hope that big league source is a dirty liar. Why do I have a sinking feeling that we will be seeing a Lawrie for Adams swap? or Lawrie for Danish and Trey? Because it will happen or Erik Johnson. I am now worried
Bob Sacamano
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 11:47 PM) I hope that big league source is a dirty liar. Why do I have a sinking feeling that we will be seeing a Lawrie for Adams swap? or Lawrie for Danish and Trey? I'm thinking A's want an MLB ready pitcher. I'm thinking a Johnson for Lawrie swap is probably what it will be.
BigHurt3515
How would people feel about an Avi-Lawrie swap? I assume good
Bob Sacamano
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 11:50 PM) How would people feel about an Avi-Lawrie swap? I assume good Yeah I just don't see why they would want Avi unless they planned on dealing Reddick.
GreenSox
Get ready to get fleeced again by the As. Yes by all means trade young pitchers, considering their value, for this mediocrity. Or maybe a Trayce. Avi-don't care why they'd want him. That's the value. Edited December 9, 2015 by GreenSox
BigHurt3515
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 11:51 PM) Yeah I just don't see why they would want Avi unless they planned on dealing Reddick. Coco Crisp is their LF, right?
Chisoxfn
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 09:49 PM) Because it will happen or Erik Johnson. I am now worried Personally I'd rather deal Danish than Johnson. Johnson could be the guy though. I think sox are too down on him after his bounce back season. I thought he looked good with the club last year. Desperately need an upgrade at third though. Lawrie is crazy though. Still he is also talented and under control. I hope it is a package built around avi but nothing about avi screams beanes style other than it would be a buy low move.
BigHurt3515
wow, Lawrie will only be 26 next year.
Chisoxfn
QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 09:44 PM) Lawrie to Sox has legs Have you heard any names as to who Oakland is targeting?
ChiliIrishHammock24
I mean, Lawrie is an alright player, but he appears to be just a trashy, douchey person. I am going to have a very hard time rooting for him. Hell, even Susan Slusser got BLOCKED by him on Twitter. What a child.

greg775
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 06:51 AM) Get ready to get fleeced again by the As. Yes by all means trade young pitchers, considering their value, for this mediocrity. Or maybe a Trayce. Avi-don't care why they'd want him. That's the value. Anybody get the feeling the A's see the Sox as an easy mark to steal players? I wouldn't deal with the A's. I get the feeling they feel they own Kenny in trades. ... Brett is still a decent prospect I guess, but I'd rather acquire the bust on the Pirates at 3B over this bust. If the A's are trading him, that means Beane has given up on him as a prospect. I'd pass. Edited December 9, 2015 by greg775
Rowand44
Really don't care that Lawrie is under control for a while cause he's just not that good. Not going to get myself worked up over this yet but not a fan of the idea.
Baron
and ofcourse the negative nancies come in the thread and make you want to join the crowd in jumping off the bridge. Good lord.
BlackSox13
I'll wait and see who's involved before I comment further but I have been on board with the Lawrie idea, pending the cost.
coco1997
I wonder what it would realistically take to get both Lawrie and Reddick together. Both would be solid and still youngish upgrades at positions of need for this team.
