There are going to be some grumpy people on here if nothing gets done before the meetings end.

You know...I just want to win the regular season. I don't need to be the off-season winner. For once, lets put out a good product on the field. If it isn't sexy but works, great. 05 offseason wasn't "sexy", but it certainly worked.

Frazier has put up over a 9 WAR over the past 2 seasons. He's a solidly above average defender. He takes more walks than Lawrie, he strikes out less. He hit 35 HR last year. Todd Frazier is a damn all star caliber player and he's not even 30. I don't give 2 flying fudgesicles that Brett Lawrie is a "grinder" and he "plays mean" or whatever. The dude sucks. If we had Lawrie, we would be trying to see if he could upgrade over him right now. He's Gordon Beckham without the fun personality.

HE IS NOT GOOD.

This is false.

I don't disagree that they're talking or whatever, just the words she used to say how far they are. No one else wanted to go that far and her own words don't even back it up. "Not untypical for Sox" is the plantiest of plant reporting that ever did plant.

We all know Frazier is much better and we would rather have him but the price for him is likely too much for us to trade

I am like you. While I have some concerns of Lawrie, it also sounds like he's a pretty hard ass player who brings an edge, which I think we could use more of.

His defense( or lack there of) will certainly bring an edge to the pitchers.

I really think it was just an off year for him defensively. I've always thought the left side of the infield is tough to play at Oakland...or maybe that's just watching Jose Valentin for far too long.

It was eventful. Mags leaves, Carlos Lee traded for Pods, Iguchi, AJ, Dye I think too

Hahn coy on 3B (Lawrie). "exploring multiple options." No timeline on anything, he says

Dont be stupid Hahn, take your time and if it doesnt fit dont let KW convince you it does.

I like this. I don't think many other teams will get involved. If we get him, it's at our price. They seem motivated to move him and free up the little money.

Pretty big "snag" if the teams can't agree on the prospects. Isn't that the entire trade? Doesn't sound like a deal is all that close, really.

I'm wondering if the sox have some prospects for other trades but oakland is wanting one or 2 of those

Still amazes me that some people view Rick Hahn as like the poor puppet in this situation with almost zero power. While Emperor Kenny Williams is manipulating him behind the scenes to do evil acts.

KW clearly has a lot of say on whats being done and discussed behind the scenes. Just as Theo does with the Cubs.

If KW we're in charge I'm willing to bet there would have been a bigger splash than Lawrie. It's Hahn's show. He needs to fix his mess from last year.

Hey if he wants to keep up the mantra "we're working" great. But the results better be worth it this year especially.

I 100% believe that Hahn is a tactition executing someone elses strategy.

KW is the Executive Vice President, he is in charge. What about Kenny screams out to you that he isnt trying to call shots or at the very least have a voice in whats going on? He is constantly in the media spouting off like he is very much involved.

Both Hahn and Williams have their own responsibilities in carrying out Mr. Reinsdorf's vision and strategy. They both have said as much in the past. Which is not surprising, given Mr. Reinsdorf is the head honcho and all. The problem for quite some time now has either been with the vision and strategy itself, the execution, or some combination of both. As a team, they really haven't gotten it done. Here's to hoping for a reversal of fortune this time around!

He was drafted out of HS, and probably thought he was hot ****. A person could mature with age. That was 7-8 years ago. Stop trying to prove your point.

Not trying to prove any points simply passing on what baseball people have told me. You can take it or leave it as you choose.

Anybody would be better than the s*** they have there now but just be careful what you wish for is all I'm saying.

I also think there was an incident with an umpire around 2012 if I remember correctly.
