aboz56
I'd rather play Oakland first and then NY, but I'll be happy regardless as long as we get in.

Oakland is totally smoking right now, there's no way I'd want to face them in the 1st round.

SuperSteve
Playing Oakland without one of their big three would okay with me. I think we match up really well with all of the playoff caliber teams. This team is so much stronger than the one we took in the playoffs in 2000. Bmr31
THAT way I could go.... BE GOOD THe way things look now, IF the sox make the playoffs, they would open against New york. Based on the remanining schedules, its very likely the red sox will get the wild card as they have an easy schedule and the mariners have a very difficult rest of the way. If NY gets the top record in the AL they cannot play the wild card from their own division, so they would play the AL central winner. If Oakland ends up with the best record in the AL, they would play the wild card team, leaving NY again, to play the AL central winner. Bring on the yanks!!! southsider2k5
The only team I really think we have no chance of beating is Seattle. As long as we don't open with them, I really like our chances.

That was just one writers opinion. I don't think the Yankees fear anyone. And the regular season always seems to be preseason for the Yankees. They usually kick it up a gear or two come October. aboz56
I'd take our chances against Harden and Zito. Zito hasn't been that great this season and Harden we have already beaten. Hudson is another story. The only thing that would scare me about Oakland is how poor we've played against them the past few years. It'll be interesting to see how the Yankees play against us in USCF, maybe they'll have the division clinched by then and their intensity could be down a bit. Wise Master Buehrle
Yankee fans ARE scared s***less of us. Just like we're scared s***less of the Mariners. I want the Red Sox to win the wildcard, we have much better luck against them. Here's what I would prefer... Yankees White Sox Red Sox A's We beat the Yankees, and the Red Sox beat the A's. (It would be nice to skip them, they are the team I fear the most in the AL, besides the Mariners) Then in the ALCS we play Boston, and hopefully beat them so I can rub it in the face of my friend who will not stop saying that Boston will win the World Series, then we'd go onto the World Series and see what happens there, preferably a White Sox winner. Texsox
I just want to be there, you have to beat everyone sooner or later and I think the road to the WS is going through Oakland this year. Anyone care to take on Foulke in the deciding game?

The thought of Keith pumping those guys up scares the crap out of me! I honestly believe they would crush us. I don't really want to think too much about it though. One day at a time. The one benefit ot that would be that I get to go if they play in Seattle.
