If we trade a rotation starter, I do want to see us sign someone like Johan as the 5th starter. I think he can comeback like Kazmir did.

He is minor league deal territory, and he would have guys like Beck, Turner, Johnson, and Aumont to contend with.

You can go ahead and double that price for Cespedes, and add a few years.

I am not sure about that, there have been reports that his market hasn't developed as expected. There are a lot of teams that have come out and said they are not looking at him.

I'd like to unload Avi and LaRoche too but it really makes no sense to diminish Q's value by throwing them in.

3 controllable MLB starters and a AAA prospect that has is considered elite defensively is a pretty good return. Owens still has a chance to become a at least a 2 or 3 and possibly even a TOR guy if he gets it put together. I think we could probably get more from them, but it would be lower level guys like Montas was when we got him.

I'd like to see if the Sox can do anything more to upgrade a number of starting positional players who were ranked among the worst in MLB from either an offensive or defensive stand point according to a new of places.

But more than that I'd like to see them fire the manager who has not gotten any better over four seasons, still makes fundamental mistakes and lacks any passion.

That in itself may help the current players perform better.

But I don't expect that to happen at least until May if then. More than liekly Ventura will finish out his contract and ride off with some dignity. What the Sox do then is absolutely anybody's guess.

Trade Q, Laroche, and Avi to Houston for George Springer, Colin McHugh, and Colin Moran- my thinking is that Houston would rather get their pitcher they need without spending $100+M so the 1 year of Laroche is pretty manageable. Plus it looks like LaRoche could actually get some AB's with their 1B situation.

Sign Gerrado Parra 2/16 M

Eaton CF

Melky DH

Abreu 1B

Springer RF

Parra/Thompson (Trayce vs LH) LF

Lawrie 3B

Avila/Navarro C

Micah/Sanchez 2B

Saladino SS

Sale

Rodon

McHugh

Johnson

Danks

Turner

Kahnle

Jennings

Petricka

Duke

Jones

Robertson

I'd love to put any one of the big free agent OF's instead of Parra and go for it all. Just tried to keep it realistic.

From ESPN:

The Chicago White Sox appear set in the outfield with Melky Cabrera in left field, Adam Eaton in center and Avisail Garcia in right. That said, the Sox ranked last in the American League with 622 runs and a .686 team OPS in 2015. Can they stand idly by and let Upton or Cespedes sign elsewhere with an offense that sad?

They sure as hell better not be done with that outfield.

I'm confident they're not done (not willing to bet on it though).

If the team looks like this 2 months from now around the time Spring Training starts, I'm predicting a 5th place finish (4th at best).

Six months ago Cargo wasn't even worth a Top 5 prospect...it was more of a salary dump like a Rios situation.

The Rockies and Reds aren't going anywhere with either of those two, and Cargo is risky in terms of salary, injury history and uncertainty of performance outside of Coors/in the AL.

No way I'm giving up Anderson or Fulmer unless they're eating salary.

The only trade I would be comfortable making out of the 3 you listed is the one involving the Padres.

you know, i really had to look at this in your way and i agree.

that 3rd one can really stand on its own.

Sox try Nate Jones as closer and if he fails Carson Fulmer/Frankie Montas takes the Chris Sale route to the majors and breaks in mid 2016 as closer.

Thompson spells Eaton/Ethier against lefties and provides Melky/Ethier days off to keep them fresh. Sanches becomes infield sub for SS/2B and Lawrie shifts to 3rd on Frazier's days off
