southsider2k5
If it wasn't for skipping our 5th starter, off days would serve no useful purpose I am so ready to get this stretch run going!
CubKilla
My heart and nerves can use the day off. Would be so sweet for Cleveland to win tonight putting the White Sox in first place without throwing a pitch or swinging a bat.
Wise Master Buehrle
I agree, off days are very boring, especially when you're sick at home with nothing to do. But, they can be very useful. Rest the bullpen, skip the 5th starter, regain yourself.
Sox1422
At least we have Monday Night Football and the Cleveland game to watch.
Texsox
I'm almost ready to put my head in the sand and pull it out on Friday morning. I'm too old for this. I don;t know what it is about this team, this year, that has me more emotionally involved. Perhaps I'm thinking this is the most momentum I can recall a Sox team having going into the last two weeks of the season.

I think I am more emotional this year because i have WAY more time on my hands than I normally do. Unfortunately, I have been mentally preparing for the worst since we got swept at home by Boston. Those were two UGLY games.

Our best 1-4 pitching that we've had since, at least, 1993? Gordon, Marte, and Wunsch? If the offense fires and the SP can give us 6-7 good innings, we have what it takes, to quote Jake from MAJOR LEAGUE, "to win the whole..... f***ing..... thing." We just need to get there. Bmr31
I read something on the Boston Espn site last night that made me very proud and very sad at the same time. A red sox fan said if we make the playoffs, we should be the odds on favorite to win the pennant. He said we had a scary lineup, good pen, and 3 stud starting pitchers. All true. WHat made me sad? When i read that I couldnt believe that there is a good shot that we wont even be making the playoffs AND our division winner may not even win 90 games. How dishearting it will be that the best team I have seen in at least 20 years on the southside and they may be cleaning their lockers before October 1. Thank JM for that as the marathon is now a sprint and a couple of stumbles that were thought as harmless can be our undoing. Willie Harris batting in the tenth losing by a run, road trips to losing teams of 1-6 and 3-7. If those are .500 trips we are couting days. They should have been .667 (11-6,) and the champagne is ordered (7 game lead with 13 to play.) Not to mention 3 1-0 losses to San Diego and the Tigers twice. In the end this is a season that will test us as fans. The realization that a manager and organization have more of an effect that many believe. I for one am at a loss as anyhting less than the playoffs from these guys is a disgrace. I believe we have the best team in the American League bar none.
