Jose Abreu
One storyline that may be interesting next season is the tension between Brett Lawrie and the Royals. For those who don't know what I'm referring to, or don't know the whole story, here you go: April 17th, 2015 Shortly after a Royals bench-clearing altercation with the Angels, Brett Lawrie takes out Alcides Escobar with a dirty slide, causing the benches to clear. After the game, Lawrie approaches Eric Hosmer and asks for Escobar's phone number. Hosmer gives him the number, and Lawrie sends Escobar a long apology... or did he? Escobar denies ever receiving an apology, and Lawrie repeatedly asserts that he did send one. It is believed that Hosmer gave Lawrie an incorrect number, possibly on purpose. April 18th, 2015 Benches clear again after Yordano Ventura hits Lawrie in the 4th inning. April 19th, 2015 Kelvin Herrera, others ejected after Herrera throws a 100 MPH fastball behind Lawrie. Herrera pointed at his head while looking at Lawrie as he was walking off the field. Benches then cleared, as Lawrie interpreted this as "next time I face you, I'm going for your head", while Herrera (supposedly) meant "Use your head" or "Think about it". April 21st, 2015 Lawrie reacts to the news of Herrera's suspension and comments on Royals' fans. "You get what you deserve, more or less", Lawrie said of Herrera. "And the way their fans approached everything, I hated it. The way their fans were antagonizing everything, you know, I got a first-pitch missed curveball up in my head and everyone leaps up in their seat like Bruce Buffer is about to come out. That's not how we're doing things. Shame on their fans for antagonizing everything that went on there, because that had a lot to do with it. Shame on the players and their team that went with it. I'm just glad it's all over and we're moving on" Lawrie continued. April 23rd, 2015 Benches clear in Chicago after Yordano Ventura quick-pitches Adam Eaton and the two exchange pleasantries. Eaton, Samardzija, Sale, Cain, Volquez, and Y. Ventura were the main pieces of this drama, but there could still be some resentment. There is, however, indubitably resentment held by the Royals and their fans against Lawrie. Something to keep an eye on next season.
greg775
If the Royals don't chill out, so to speak, next season, it's time for all teams to fight with them every single series. They won the gawd damn WS. They're not gonna win it every year, in fact, if they lose Gordon and the starting pitching reeks, they probably will dip right away. So if they make a big deal about Lawrie, we should throw at them, fight them, and so should every other team when they pull Royals-type bulls***. They won the title ... it's time to fricking chill out. If they don't chill out they are insufferable asses. Agreed?

Jose Abreu
I do think they calmed down overall as the season progressed, but I agree that teams should be more aggressive with them, especially if they keep instigating.

shysocks
I'm going to Saturday's game with some Royals fans and I don't think I'm gonna be able to behave rationally.
OmarComing25
We're facing the Royals #6 and #7 options at SP plus Ventura, who's been a bottom 10 pitcher in baseball this year (29 BB to 31 K in 42 IP, yuck). Let's sweep them.

Bob Sacamano
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 20, 2016 -> 07:32 PM) Lawrie hit by pitch in his first AB. Doubt it was intentional.
