Sure, but not enough to leave tens of millions dollars on the table. Also, literally every MLB team contains Spanish-speaking players.

Funny enough, that's the Mets pitch to him. He absolutely loves the Spanish culture of NYC and is reportedly willing to take a big discount to stay there.

I mean, I would say that at the very least they don't dislike each other...

Right. But imagine your most average friend. Maybe a guy who see once every couple months. Don't know him super well, but always got along. Let's call him Fred. Now, you're job hunting, and get offers from two companies -- one of which is the place that Fred works. The company that Fred works for is offering you 30% less money. Do you choose Fred's company?

What if Fred was your best friend in the whole world?

Interestingly enough -- the Rockies just DFA'd Kyle Parker, which could be signalling a move on their part. Perhaps we could be trading for a Rockies OF instead.

Can't wait to see the Sox announce the trade with CO ... for Kyle Parker. There's your new OF.

Depends, how well can Fred hit a curveball?

Or is it a Pauly situation?

Or it could be bulls*** from the start.

I don't really get timeframes. Just general statements. I think it'll end soon enough as he's the only premier free agent left now. Supposedly teams are dropping out too.

Half of the MLB speaks Spanish. Not really the best comparison. I think this whole Cespedes-Abreu thing makes no difference. Money, location (family), team's proximity to winning are really the only thing that matters. Unless you're a Cubs fan of course. Everyone wants to play for the Cubs.

Yes or it could be bulls***.

That's a thing that has been reported, sure. But unless it comes directly form the mouth of his agent, it's more than likely just speculation.

Also, every major city has a huge Spanish-speaking population. If that's a priority, than the Angels should be the clear frontrunners.
