If they thought both could likely do that well, they wouldn't have gotten Sanchez. Two of the three will be in Charlotte, one will be gone. He was a legit contributor in SF when they won the world series. But then again, Chris Widger didn't exactly set the league on fire after 2005/06. Exactly. If something looks low risk/high reward, then you're misinterpreting either the level of risk or reward. The relationship between risk and reward makes low risk/high reward impossible. Period. Now if somebody possesses information that others lack, it's a different story. If Hahn knew that Hector Sanchez was an alien who stole Buster Posey's talent but the rest of the market didn't, this signing would be low risk/high reward.
