Rowand44
QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 11:24 AM) To me, it's a great job of selling those 3 guys while they have good value. That's pretty much where I'm at. Hopefully there is more to come now but I don't love any of the 3 guys we gave up so I can deal with this. bmags
I'm surprised people think Sox gave up too much. Those were three players that had a mixed bag of thoughts on being starters, let alone plus starters. Whose ready for hero worship posts though?!?! justBLAZE
Bob Nightengale @BNightengale 43s44 seconds ago The #WhiteSox had been working on four or five different deals before landing Frazier, the one they wanted all along.. Do your thing Ricky.
TheTruth05
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 11:26 AM) Not sure how high they sold on Micah and Montas but I guess Montas was able to say healthy all year and that is probably selling highish on him, even if his performances weren't mind blowing. Micah, well, it's selling low but before he has zero value I guess. Montas didn't look too bad in September plus is still being groomed as a starter even though hes highly likely to end up as a reliever. Micah couldn't even stay healthy, plus his brick hands. chitownsportsfan
QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 12:26 PM) I think he's optioned or they're trying hard to get rid of him. They should not be trying to "dump" Avi. He has no value anyways. Like Viciedo, this is his make or break year. If they are somehow 58-43 around the trade deadline and Avi is replacement level yea, then you dump him. Not now.
Buehrle>Wood
Montas is the only thing of real value. Sucks for him too because he's probably most valuable on the White Sox.
flavum
It's setting in now...I'm happy with this deal. Trayce and Montas are gambles, but the Sox actually have big league infielders in Lawrie and Frazier now. Anderson and Fulmer still in the system for 2017....fine. Now get an outfielder and move Avi. bmags
I have to say, I find this deal fair, and it makes a lot of sense. I'm nervous, because every deal Hahn made that has been fair and makes sense has been a disaster.
Bigsoxhurt35
f***ing stoked about not giving up Anderson or Fulmer. I'm fine with this move. At work so this sucks lol. Listening to 810 sports KC and they crapped on Frazier but want Bruce lol. Can't wait to see the full deal and look at it. Sox love their threesomes lol
Dick Allen
Is this a Rick Hahn or KW production, or do we have to see how they perform to determine?
cabiness42
So is Sanchez the starting SS right now, or Saladino, or a platoon?

hogan873
I just looked at Frazier's contract. I didn't realize it was that reasonable. $12MM over the next two years. I would assume that if all goes well with the Sox, he's going to get paid after 2017.
justBLAZE
QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 12:30 PM) Saladino, easily Saladino and Sanchez both on the big league team, Sanchez being utility guy.

Jake
QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 12:30 PM) Saladino, easily It will be an interesting decision if it comes down to that since Saladino is overall a higher risk prospect IMO but from what I have seen and heard is far less of a risk as a defensive SS, where Sanchez could be anywhere from just fine to sub-MLB level. Sanchez's bat being what it was for much of the season last year, the Sox will have to decide if it's worth gambling on. I think the more likely scenario is that we bring in somebody else entirely to play SS or re-sign Alexei
Quin
Holy s***. Definitely need Upton or Cespedes now.

ChiSox59
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 11:25 AM) I still wish we could get a left handed bat. I presume Avi will get a platoon type role (which is fine). Maybe a cheaper guy like Parra makes sense.
Rowand44
The one thing that does scare me about this is that Frazier seems like the exact guy that will completely fall apart here but it's worth the risk with the package of players we gave up.
