OmarComing25
I think Upton has the highest demands in both money and additional clauses, which is why we're not as active in pursuing him compared to the other too, I doubt it has anything to do with Upton's "lack of interest" in playing here. Dick Allen
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 09:58 AM) Or he has no interest in talking to the White Sox because they won't offer the most money. How would one know that without a discussion?

OK. You wouldn't make a very good agent. Why would any free agent want to talk to the White Sox? You should probably close this thread. Personal attack, LMAO. You are saying because the White Sox don't have a history of being the highest bidder for free agents, that is enough for a free agent to not even be interested in signing with them, not to even listen to what they have to say . You can argue just to argue, but if you really believe that, there is no reason to believe Gordon or Cespedes will sign with the team either, so why don't you do everyone a favor and close those threads? And if you really think that is a personal attack, ban me. Edited December 29, 2015 by Dick Allen

I think he will sign with the O's. He's from the area sorta (Virginia), they have been rumored to be interested, they need an impact bat with losing Davis. Makes a lot of sense to me oh and they have the money.

bmags
Who sets Davis' market? Or does the lack of bench mark create the impasse anyway
knightni
I don't see Davis' overall appeal. Sure, he can hit you 40-50 in a year, but he's bad at D, slow, and can't hit for consistent average.

It is a limited amount of teams who need him because they already have 1B covered. Past that, he is only one season removed from an Adam Dunn like season where he hit under .200. Appeal Boras and Davis seem to think is worth a 200 million dollar contract.

Good comparison, although the offensive environment is completely different today than it was when we signed Dunn, which is why he'll get a f***ton more than Dunn did. I will say this, Davis is crazy if he doesn't accept the Orioles' offer. I highly doubt any team offers anything close to a deal of that size. I can't see who else would offer him any where near that number. The Yankees have Texeira The Dodgers have AGonz The Cubs have Rizzo The Tigers have Miguel Texas has Prince The Angels have Pujols The Red Sox have Ortiz, and then probably Hanley. The Giants have Belt, and no cash left. The Nationals have Zimmerman Philly is still stuck with Howard, and they are rebuilding The Blue Jays have Encarnacion Maybe the Astros if they have given up on Singleton?
