Al-Jazeera links Ryan Howard, Ryan Zimmerman to banned PEDs

Peyton "allegedly" did it after that serious neck surgery though. Not gonna diminish his legacy whatsoever though. HGH in football is nothing like baseball. Plenty of guys are in the Football Hall of Fame who took PEDs. Hell, the Seahawks won the Super Bowl a couple of years ago with half their players roided up.

I'd be more nervous if I were Ryan Howard and Ryan Zimmerman if it's true.

Could put the Nats in the market for another bat...as a hedge against a possible Zimmerman suspension.

Y. Gallardo and Taylor Teagarden are supposedly both on the Al-Jazeera list as well aaccording to Jon Morosi.

this is an interesting turn of events.....i wonder if another series of blood test will be done or can the org ask for blood test for their players.

does anyone know how long ped can stay in the systems???

can this be believe that one media outlet knows this and no one else??? i am not disputing this b/c well it is the Al-Jazeera and its network and their known media connections to extremist of religious backing. i am question if it can be believed.

what will baseball do next??? they mention a list, is that list been posted???

side bar question, do the fa's go thru a blood test when they sign a contract??? we all know they go thru a physical, but does that mean a blood test as well??

I didn't think they had a good HgH test in the last collective bargaining agreement

I found the documentary interesting. Taylor Teagarden appears on camera and incriminates himself, then goes on to talk about how owners didn't want drug testing during the steroid era. Eddie Dominguez also said it was made clear to him that he was forced on baseball.

So it's kind of a hypocrisy with owners. I doubt much will come of it, except the little fish like Teargarden being caught.

excellent point on the hypocrisy of anything esp the owners. one only has to look no further than one friends, i hate to say this, but we are in some way hypocrites, i truly mean not to offend, but this more of a philosophical discussion, i know, but it is the truth.

just as the owners of any sports, wants only the see things in a pragmatic way, saying that they are against this or that, mostly in the ped and illegal activities... they can point to that point and say see we as the owners are concern. but really avoiding the intellectual side any any argument or study. only doing what is enuf.

but on the flip side, those athletes and the union are in this as well and if not just as guilty, they are or should be more guilty.... b/c of the health factors of the athletes when they get older.

it is really stupid all around.

If Zim gets suspended, it makes the Nats a clear landing spot for LaRoche

i love your your thinking, but do you really think that mlb does anything quickly????

they will drag their heals and this will take at least a yr .... if it is true.

Uh, ya. Let's not go jumping to conclusions just yet. This is Al-Jazeera after all. I think this quote below is the important thing to take note of.

"None of the three baseball players have ever been suspended for PED use or failed any known drug tests. It is yet unknown how MLB or the NFL may respond to this documentary, if at all, though if the allegations are proven, Howard, Zimmerman and Teagarden would presumably be subject to the 80-game suspension given to the first-time offenders of MLB’s drug policy."

but here is the point, if some media group is claiming this, should any sport league should jump to a league wide crucifixion, where is the due process, where is the defense.

even if it may be true, their is due diligence in a proper defense and knowing of the known evidence.,

there is no short cuts in something like this and like a past case of a chi sports person, it is stupid to post names without proof.

really stupid.

No, the MLB is not going to jump to a league wide Crucifixion over allegations from Al-Jazeera. Let's not go overboard.

The MLB will investigate the allegations but if there is no proof to any of this then the MLB will simply move on. The MLB already tests players from marijuana to HGH and everything in-between.

Again, this is Al-Jazeera were talking about so at this point I take the allegations with a grain of salt and laugh it off.

i know, i was being ironical... with that statement.

and with ref to Al-Jazeera, i know with american sports media news, the US citizens are afforded a certain amount of media protection in what is commonly known as moral ethics and moral reasoning that is known thru out the whole media industry.

Verily.

Why the lack of NBAers anytime something like this comes around?

The sport of basketball doesn't really lend itself to needing the PEDs. They don't need the pure strength of an NFL linemean. They don't need the pure speed and distance of a 100, 200 meter runner. They don't need the endurance of a cyclist. They don't need the strength to hit a ball 400 feet for homeruns.

It may help with some performance but nothing real specific in basketball.

Football and track are the two sports that really lend themselves to PEDs. They are always going to come up with new designer PEDs that no one knows to test for. The IOC has come up with a new baseline test that is the most promising. It tests for any changes, regardless of the source.

i still think due to the PEDs in the NFL, the CTE and concussion issue has more to do with the combination with the PEDs than contact alone.

interesting thing there. i have no medical background, but since my godson got hurt and was in the ucla medical center for a possible link of that, i been reading. i know, i am nothing but a snoop. but i think from a lame man term it also has a little thing to a control violence.... very much like what is called conditioning.

this was done with animals to be conditions for violence.... but what ever happen to those creatures after the treatment / experiment was done?? how was the creature in later life???

an unknown element was talked about with the great joe lewis, but no one was able to distinguish it or call it or just said he broke down....

this is me and my disclaimer is i do not know crap.
