trump's long-time personal butler seems insane, going so far as to call for the US military to assassinate Obama.

Is this the one that ran for mayor and required homeless people to license for panhandling.

I think you've asked about that specific website before, and yes it is steaming garbage, and no claufield it is not comparable to nyt.

I wasn't referring to quality...it's more filled with "conspiracy" type stuff. Just saying that no Republicans would put much stock in what the NY Times has to say in terms of its opinions or editorial board.

There really isn't a direct "left wing" equivalent of a website aiming at the investor/business class audience yet really liberal in orientation.

It's a much less competent and even more opinionated version of Forbes.

Man I wonder what is rhetoric will be once Clinton becomes president?

she should be hung next to Obama! at the "white mosque" (it used to be the white house!)

Detroit and Milwaukee should be nuked because Muslims

Ferguson should be carpet-bombed.

Weird how all of these garbage white supremacist people keep latching on to Trump.

This is why we can't have nice policy arguments:

President Obama's approval rating stands at 49/48, the first time we've had him with a positive approval spread in a considerable amount of time. There continues to be a lot of misinformation about what has happened during Obama's time in office. 43% of voters think the unemployment rate has increased while Obama has been President, to only 49% who correctly recognize that it has decreased. And 32% of voters think the stock market has gone down during the Obama administration, to only 52% who correctly recognize that it has gone up. In both cases Democrats and independents are correct in their understanding of how things have changed since Obama became President, but Republicans claim by a 64/27 spread that unemployment has increased and by a 57/27 spread that the stock market has gone down.

Trump, the "self-funding" man who is going to get money out of politics, actually just loaned his campaign money and is now courting major donors whose donations will be used to pay back the loan.

He's been doing that the whole time actually.

This should be terrifying to everyone, and an example of why the presidency is a serious job, as the republican establishment bucks in line to support this guy:

That's actual fascism, not like the internet "I don't like that guy's policies" fascism.

Also a bunch of people think the deficit's gone up but it's actually gone waaaaaaaaay down. (I think this is cuz people don't know the difference between deficit and debt.)

He's already said he wants to change libel laws to allow him to sue anyone who says anything bad about him.

This is at least marginally defensible since they're related concepts, are usually deliberately conflated, and are similar words. People should still know the difference, but I think that's an order of magnitude less bad than thinking unemployment today is higher than January 2009.

I'm still in utter disbelief that Trump is the Republican nominee.

Does the GOP even f***ing care about their brand anymore?

The GOP seemingly did just about anything you can to prevent it. What more could they have done?

Taken him seriously from the start (I've read that none of the other candidates did oppo research on him before February!), coalesced around one not-Trump early on rather than splitting the vote 16 ways. Don't know that it would have for sure worked, but they didn't really have any sort of coherent strategy or plan. Hell, their last, best hope ended up being Ted Cruz!

They produced zero candidates that could excite their base. When Trump's message resonances with voters, your party f***ed up along the way. Even Lindsey Graham realized what a colossal f*** up his party has been.

I could say the same about Hillary if and when she gets indicted. I mean trust me, where there's smoke oh there indeed is fire with her. I'm hoping she gets indicted before the election but she could get it after the election too.

It said: "President Obama's approval rating stands at 49/48, the first time we've had him with a positive approval spread in a considerable amount of time."

Well, well, I've pointed out in the past mysteriously Obama is beloved near election time. That's when the media returns to its roots and makes sure everybody loves the Democrats. Now shortly after election they might have some negative crap on Obama, or off an on the first 2-3 years there's some negative stuff, but when it's time to elect another Democratic president, you better believe people start saying how great Obama is and how his approval rating has skyrocketed.
