Soxbadger
QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 12:07 PM) Isn't that fraud? He has to pay fair market value for anything he uses. So when he uses his company's jet, he has to pay his company. When he stays at a "Trump" hotel, he has to pay the hotel. So it isnt fraud, its actually following the law. Its up to the candidate where they stay/what services they use, they just have to pay for them.
StrangeSox
Yeah it's legitimate expenses, it's just that of course he's going to structure it so he benefits. And anyone donating to his campaign has to know that some of that money is going to be going directly into his pocket, and that a big chunk is going to go towards paying off his personal loans to the campaign. Ok, I misunderstood what you wrote. I thought he was taking donations from people and using it for his personal (not campaign related) expenses. Well it depends on what you consider a benefit. The idea behind the law is to prevent candidates from getting freebies that are unaccounted for. It is probably slightly better for Trump's Campaign if it had to pay nothing, rather than paying his own companies as the companies are going to have to pay tax, etc on the revenue, so its likely a little bit of a money sink. I dont necessarily think its a problem. If Conrad Hilton had run for President, I would assume he would stay at Hilton hotels.
lostfan
The RNC is freaking out about Trump's FEC disclosures, since now they have to spend money on campaign infrastructure that the Republican nominee would've had to do. That stuff takes time, you don't start it in May or June.
pettie4sox
I know I haven't been on this forum that long but what's with the influx of douchenoggin posters lately? There are debates and then there is yahoo comment esque type trolling. What gives?

Texsox
One of the advantages Trump has is not having held public office. If we held his private business dealings to the same level of scrutiny as a public official I am certain we would find all sorts of issues. StrangeSox
It's only June and Trump's already unskewing the polls Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump The "dirty" poll done by @ABC @washingtonpost is a disgrace. Even they admit that many more Democrats were polled. Do you (or anyone, for that matter) honestly have an idea where he wants to take the country? Which candidate? The primary one? The one the last 6 weeks or so? The Democrat from 10-15 years ago? She will say whatever you want to hear, and then do whatever she wants. For example, this being a baseball website, how she morphs into a Cubs fan whenever she's in Chicago. And that's what Trump is doing, he's pandering. As for her policy, it's easy to push policy you know won't get passed, it's quite different when you're pushing it as president. This is only true if you don't actually look at how frequently Trump and Clinton change their policy positions. Trump gives a different policy at different times on the same day.
