southsider2k5
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 11:31 AM) What do you think the takeaway from her quote is? It's blaming Donald Trump. She's not dumb, that's how it will play in the media and headlines. It's naive to think otherwise. She can criticize Trump all she wants. In this particular instance, she should have condemned the San Diego violence. She blames Trump for it instead. That's not condemning it. Really, it just furthers the problem. after all, she was asking for it...

In this particular instance, she should have condemned the San Diego violence. She blames Trump for it instead. That's not condemning it. Really, it just furthers the problem. The takeaway is that (a) violence at rallies is bad and should be stopped, and (b) Donald Trump's rhetoric contributed to the problem. You keep ignoring (a), when it's the MAIN IDEA of what she said. It just furthers the problem? Yeah, saying "don't do that" means "do that". I think Hillary is terrible, but your criticism here is complete nonsense. EvilMonkey
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 04:37 PM) Buehrle what do you think about trump attacking a judge for having Mexican parents? The judge also belongs to the LaRaza lawyers Group or something like that, loosly affiliated with LaRaza who is anti Trump, and the counsel he appointented to the defense has donated almost 1 mil to Hillary. I don't see how ther could even BE a possibility of him being biased here. Not one bit.
StrangeSox
"I'm building a wall he's Mexican." His lawyers haven't asked for a recusal or alleged anything wrong, this is just his way of lashing out over rulings he doesn't like. Trying to defend attacking a judge for having Mexican parentage is just pathetic. ps the law firm in question donated to the Clinton Global Initiative, not to Clinton's campaign, and this lawsuit stretches back to before Trump's candidacy. Complaining about "the LaRaza lawyers Group or something like that" is like complaining that a judge is biased because they belong to the local NAACP chapter. And the judge didn't "appoint" the law firm for the plaintiffs (Trump is the defense); they brought the case originally and he just certified them when class status was granted. You're being lied to again by conservative "news" sources. Edited June 8, 2016 by StrangeSox
caulfield12
http://wtop.com/dc/2015/08/chef-responds-t...aurant-lawsuit/ Wouldn't it be equally fair then to condemn Trump when you start a business project with him, he libels the ethnic background of the 5 star chef (Jose Andres) and what was originally intended to be at least 1/3rd of the customer base...why would any Hispanic person want to support ANY Trump project? So the PGA is also "anti-Trump/reverse racist" because they're moving a Florida tourney from a Trump course to Mexico City, lol? Is there anyone besides lower middle class and middle class whites without a university education that Trump hasn't pissed off? How is that possibly going to lead to an electoral victory in November when 75% of the eligible female voters in the country will never vote for him...? Trump's going to carry 80% of the white male vote? Even if he does that, he'll lose Hispanic, black and the majority of Asian voters.

EvilMonkey
Seems that the police chief of San Jose, who had his officers just stand around during all the violence by the anti-Trump protestors, because he feared that arresting them would lead to more violence, is also a member of LaRaza, who was one of the major groups protesting there. yeah. He should be fired for not doing his damn job.

In fact, isn't the same reasoning used when Presidents appoint women/minorities to the bench? We want their perspective? edit: looks like you're having this debate in the dem thread. The judge belongs to the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association, which is affiliated with the California La Raza Lawyers Association, which happens to link to the National Council of La Raza (the objectionable group) at the bottom of their Links page that has a whole bunch of Latino-advocacy groups listed. So he's guilty by association of association of association. The council was appointed to the plaintiffs, not the defense. They're a famous San Diego class action lawsuit group, and one of two he appointed. Moreover, he picked them in 2014, BEFORE Trump was even a candidate and made all those anti-Mexican comments. I hear ya on the fact that he seems to be alienating huge blocs of voters. I think there's one thing you're forgetting and it's powerful: Nobody really wants Hillary Clinton to be president. f***ing nobody. And all the people on the fence or leaning towards Hillary because it's safe might change their minds if Trump just steamrolls her in debates. I predict he will just destroy her and millions of people will be left thinking, "Oh s***, Donald effing Trump just punked Hillary in front of the whole world; what are the leaders of other countries going to do if she's in charge." It might not play out that way but it's where I'd put my money if I had to.

Our belief is to help everyone, not just one race. Humanity is our belief." and noted Stan Steiner[17] as observing that when Chavez told Chicanos this, "their faces fell" in disbelief. They had thought he was a nationalist, not a humanist."[18][19][20] Cesar didn't think to highly of them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Council_of_La_Raza

Hopefully David Palmer swoops in as an independent. Well ... first he said he believes in capitalism not socialism, so no to Bernie. I thought Bernie was a Democratic socialist, but Howard believes in capitalism, so again, no Bernie. Then to a report that Trump and Hillary are tied, he said something to the effect of, "Cmon people. The choice is between somebody who has given her whole life basically to public service vs. somebody who is a celebrity who doesn't have much business being in politics." I felt a 'little' better that Howard thinks she'll at least be OK because of her experience.
