StrangeSox
QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jul 28, 2016 -> 11:35 AM) http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politic...ntion/87644542/ Not surprisingly, lots of false claims last night. • Kaine claimed that Trump said he “wants to abandon” our NATO allies. Trump has said that he doesn’t want the U.S. to leave NATO, but has suggested he would not automatically defend NATO allies that do not pay their share of defense costs. So Kaine was correct, not sure why that's included. Monthly renewable energy production has increased by about 40% from January 2009 to April 2016, far from the 100% increase Obama claimed. While it is true that wind and solar power have more than doubled since 2008 (they’ve nearly quadrupled, in fact), they represent only part of the renewable energy picture. Less than a third of renewable energy consumption in April came from wind and solar. Renewable and clean are not the same word. Ethanol is not a clean energy source. Since then, the yearly deficits have declined markedly. In fiscal year 2015, which ended last Sept. 30, the deficit was $438 billion, a drop of 69% from FY 2009. So another factual claim from Obama. Panetta was referring to a Trump interview with Fox News anchor Bret Baier in May. As we’ve written before, Baier asked Trump whether he had talked to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump refused to answer, and went on to say that “I know Russia well” because “I had a major event in Russia two or three years ago,” referring to the 2013 pageant. So panetta was again correct, and they're arguing against something he didn't claim. A fact check that criticizes arguments that weren't actually made is pretty garbage but all too common. No need to ask her about it. The FBI saved her on that issue and that's that. It'd be like asking her about Lewinsky and her husband's behavior there. Old news. Clintons survived both without a scar, as usual. Our country is in love with the Clintons no matter what they do. I wish I had the kind of money they have built up. Trump doesn't know Russian's aggressive advances, he gets a pass. He insults a fire marshal for enforcing the law, gets a pass. Honestly from someone who isn't vested in either candidate, the behavior is the same, even if the level of ridiculousness from the candidates isn't. Both sides justify their own candidate, and throw stones at the other. This entire election has become about how we can't let the other person get elected, and not about how they should elect their own candidate. That is more telling than everything. The entire other thread is one long running commentary about what Trump said and did. This thread is all about Hillary.

StrangeSox
I think that's more what Tex was referring to. He appears to have a floor of 38%. To be fair, either party could nominate Reincarnated Hitler and probably see a similar floor. At the same time, he appears to have a ceiling of 45% and has bounced off of that hard in the last week. Jenksismyhero
Sure, but how much of that "pass" is actual support versus a vote to prevent giving Democrats and Hillary in particular another 4 years? It'd be nice if someone did a poll on that. Are you actually supporting Trump because of Trump or because of anti-Hillary/Dem policy.
StrangeSox
QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 11:32 AM) Sure, but how much of that "pass" is actual support versus a vote to prevent giving Democrats and Hillary in particular another 4 years? It'd be nice if someone did a poll on that. Are you actually supporting Trump because of Trump or because of anti-Hillary/Dem policy. There have been polls on that. Slight pluralities on both sides have "vote against the other candidate" as their primary motivation. That's what I think that baked-in floor is--it literally doesn't matter for lets say 35% on either side who the nominees are, they will still vote with their 'team.' That's how he's being given a pass. I think Trump is providing ample evidence for that, but we don't have a real-world Democratic equivalent that's been tested against. This one is from May. I know I've seen a more recent one, but the results were more or less the same.
greg775
Say what you want about Trump ... I just watched him on Hannity and if you listen to the man in a non GOTCHA environment, the man says a lot of interesting things. I loved the last question of a long interview. Hannity asked Trump if he was worried about the election being "rigged." He said of course he was worried about that. He said it was rigged against Bernie as proven by the DNC emails. He said many precincts were rigged against Romney. He said he's very worried that our country is fixing the vote for Hillary. Folks, say what you want. The possibility of rigged elections in the USA is SCARY. I can't believe there's not more outrage over the DNC rigging it for Hillary. Folks, I have no interest in this either way (I won't vote for Trump or Hillary) but I think it's very scary that amid allegations of things being "rigged," we don't seem to care. We should have all necessary precautions taken to avoid this election being rigged. Cmon ... if Trump is able to win, he should be allowed to win. If Bernie had enough support to garner the nomination he shoulda garnerned the nomination. I WANT A FAIR ELECTION. check out the hannity interview if it's on youtube or fox news channel. Trump does not sound like a madman or a dangerous man. He sounds electable, folks.

Now the Dems have their plant, Trump, as the nominee. Not only is the plan for Hillary to be elected, then Chelsea, but to have Trump split the GOP in thirds so that the GOP is so crushed they won't be able to rebound for decades. It will be so easy to steal millions and millions of votes in all the right places. One reason Trump can't raise that much money is the wealthy people in the world understand this and aren't going to waste money on a candidate that was put in place to lose. Remember Trump was a Dem before he was a Rep.
