YouCanPutItOnTheBoardYES!
I'm kind of sad that Seaver's record is broken because he's my dad's all time favorite player.

Eminor3rd
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 06:13 PM) How do you justify voting for Piazza but not Bagwell? No clue. Our Ticket sales VP held an office HOF ballot today and the results were identical. Griffey and Piazza, no Bagwell.
YouCanPutItOnTheBoardYES!
I still find it pretty damn cool how one of the best players to ever live spent part of his career (albeit a very short stint) with the Sox.
NorthSideSox72
I just can't understand Raines being left out again. Makes no sense to me. The other guys who missed I can see some sort of argument for why (even if I disagree), but Raines? Don't get it.

You'll like my updated op then.
Bob Sacamano
Voters only get ten votes right? Then the 3 people who didn't vote him figured he'd likely get voted in anyway and spread their votes out to other players.
caulfield12
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 05:20 PM) I just can't understand Raines being left out again. Makes no sense to me. The other guys who missed I can see some sort of argument for why (even if I disagree), but Raines? Don't get it. Could have been alleged drug issues (the older writers tend to feel more strongly) and difficult relationships with some in the media. flavum
Next year's ballot, with this year's percentages (my ten in Bold): Bagwell - 71.6 Raines - 69.8 (last year) Hoffman - 67.3 Schilling - 52.3 Clemens - 45.2 Bonds - 44.3 Martinez - 43.4 Mussina - 43.0 Smith - 34.1 (last year) McGriff - 20.9 Kent - 16.6 Walker - 15.5 Sheffield - 11.6 Wagner - 10.5 Sosa - 7.0 Rodriguez, I Ramirez, M Guerrero I do think Bagwell, Raines, and Hoffman will get in next year---and maybe Vlad. Quin
Ok, Piazza is in. Let's stop pretending to care about roids now, OK? And Bagwell and Raines...no? Really?

whitesoxfan99
For the life of me I can't figure out how Trevor Hoffman gets so much support in year 1 on the ballot and Mussina is still below 50%.
flavum
QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 06:38 PM) For the life of me I can't figure out how Trevor Hoffman gets so much support in year 1 on the ballot and Mussina is still below 50%. 600 saves > no Cy's/under 300 wins That's the thought, but it doesn't make it right. Hell, Billy Wagner is probably better than Hoffman, but look at the difference in percentages for them.
Dick Allen
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 05:09 PM) First #1 overall draft pick to get into the HOF. And he goes in with Piazza, a 62nd round pick, the lowest draft choice to ever get elected.
Panerista
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 05:11 PM) Is Piazza the first roider in the HOF? No. There are plenty of roiders in the HOF. Some of the talk about Mickey Mantle is hilarious.
Quin
One of the non-Griffey ballots. Fantastic trolling job. Marc Maturo - Lifetime Honorary - Bonds Clemens Raines
Chisoxfn
QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 04:38 PM) For the life of me I can't figure out how Trevor Hoffman gets so much support in year 1 on the ballot and Mussina is still below 50%. I believe Hoffman has like the highest save percentage of closers in 1 run games (or something like that). It might be him and Paplebon. His save percentage in 1 run games and the amount of saves he had in one run games is significantly more than say Rivera. When I think of great closers, I think of Mariano and Trevor. Trevor was truly elite at what he did and for a very long time.
