OF market obviously starting to percolate. If they get him, one of those OFers will be gone.

BlackSox13
If the Rockies are really trying to sign Parra, I wonder if that means they are close to trading CarGo. Makes me rather curious.
caulfield12
That was the theory...save money $8-10 million on the salary differential while still trying to remain competitive. Flip CarGo for pitching to improve the rotation.

blackmooncreeping
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 11:45 AM) Angels getting him would be huge for us. Yes. That the Angels (and WAS) are even in on these guys makes it seem like they are only in on YC/JU if the price comes back to their neighborhood. Definitely the case with the Angels imo. Let's say this all happens: LAA signs Parra STL trades for Cargo BAL signs Davis Wonder what the market for Cespedes would look like at that point. blackmooncreeping
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 12:48 PM) White Sox + Tigers + Nationals + #mysteryteam Nats are going to be a tough competitor on the big OF's imo. They've got the cash and the willingness to spend it, and I wouldn't doubt them moving Harper to CF if they can bring in Cespedes or Upton for a corner spot. Bob Sacamano
I have a feeling the Nats are more likely to go with Austin Jackson as they wouldn't have to move Harper or Werth to center. Signing Jackson also does not prevent them from extending Harper later (though I think K they're supposed to have a big TV deal coming soon too). fathom
Saw some speculation the Nats might trade Gio for a CF and then sign Chen (Rosenthal I believe today said this)

I don't think they would sign Cespedes or Upton. For me, I always wanted the Sox to get Upton, then Gordon, the Cespedes, then Jackson. The one guy if they signed I would be unhappy with is Parra. He's fading defensively, and doesn't hit enough home runs to make up for it.

BlackSox13
Curious where this leads to if CO signs Parra. I don't see the Sox getting CarGo but still curious to see where he lands. Also curious about the other two teams involved for Parra, whom BTW comes with no comp pick attached. I've been on the fence with Parra but at this point I prefer him over Fowler. daggins
Maybe Detroit or Cleveland. Really any AL team can be considered a contender, and many need OF depth. BOS, NYY, any of em really.

As for the mystery team, its hard to pinpoint who that it. The Sox, Cards, Astros, Orioles as well as others could fit into the mix.
