WSFAN35
There are always going to be pitchers available through trades (like Ryan Dempster:metal) But there are still some quality pitchers left in the free agent market. Sure, the Sox aren't going to be picking up Maddux or the Rocket, but they could always use another solid starter. Robert Person could be the guy the Sox are looking for. He's 33 years old, so he's not too old, but he's had enough experience to help lead this team. He's got quite an arsenal of pitches. He throws a fastball that hovers around 95 mph. He's also got a hard slider, a good curveball, a splitfinger, and a changeup, which he throws all for strikes. When his fastball gets him ahead in the count, he can take them out with either his vicious slider or his fastball. He's a flyball pitcher, so when he makes mistakes, they often show up on the scoreboard, but his batting average against was around .240, even though his ERA was up around 5. Just a couple of years ago, he won 15 games. He's a solid major league pitcher with good stuff, he could be a vital asset to the Sox if Williams decides to add him to the opening day roster. Chisoxfn
Right now I'd say he would be my favorite free agent pick up because I think he has very good stuff and holds hitters down. If he can pitch with control he's nasty.

WSFAN35
With the addition of a quality starter like Person, our rotation is 10 times better. Buerhle, Garland, Wright, Person, with Rauch, Biddle and Ritchie competing for the final spot. This not only solidifies our rotation, but our bullpen. It gives the Sox alot of options. Let's hope Kenny Williams makes the right decision. :metal
