So on Clemson's first and goal play with 6 seconds left why not instruct all of your defensive players to just hold and tackle the wide receivers and then make them either go for the win or kick the FG on one final play?

Good question.

I can't answer that, but I know if someone successfully did that on that kind of stage, they would ban the practice the next season.

Wonder if Saban will whine about the refs in the post game. Such a large penalty differential.

Could have easily called a offensive pass interference on the last play. Bama should have never gotten themselves in that position though.

The defensive pass interference in the final seconds didn't occur in the end zone either. Should've been half the distance which would've put the ball around the 4 instead. Probably results in another play call.

I thought so at first but the defensive player initiates the contact

After 478 yards and 4 TDs last year.

Clemson ran 99 freaking plays. Holy s***.

They scored 31 points, but can't help to blame Alabama's offense for the loss. They had so many 3 and outs, that they just kept giving Clemson chances with the ball and the defense just got worn out by the end. Clemson ran 33 more plays and had 10 minutes greater time of possession, even though they trailed throughout.
