InTheDriversSeat
Interesting article today in Crain's Chicago Business regarding a 2 year marketing agreement the Village Of Bedford Park signed with the White Sox, paid for by the town's taxpayers. http://www.chicagobusiness.com/article/201...g-the-white-sox . BaconOnAStick
What is the actual population of Bedford Park? Isn't it basically an industrially zoned town?

cabiness42
My work has periodic print contracts with a commercial printer in Bedford Park. I have staff that travel there a few times a year.

caulfield12
It's an interesting approach. It's certainly not "sexy" compared to the Chevy Pride girls, but you gotta do what you gotta do. As they mentioned in the article, for a cost of $400,000, you basically get your advertising investment back if you are successful attracting just a couple of industries or companies to relocate or choose to open in your city. Sometimes it's frustrating to listen to all the ads for the Plumbers/Steamfitters/Pipefitters and wish we had all the "cool/hip" companies wanting to invest in the White Sox, but that's just not the reality right now. Kudos for Boyer and & Co. for thinking outside of the box. New Lenox, fwiw, has attempted the same strategy.

Jose Abreu
So is every free t-shirt day shirt going to have "Sponsored by the village of Bedford Park!" on it?
InTheDriversSeat
So is every free t-shirt day shirt going to have "Sponsored by the village of Bedford Park!" on it? No, the article indicates: "The Village will be the presenting partner of three of the team's "Free T-Shirt Thursdays" promotional nights". But the Sox website lists 4 dates: June 9th, June 30th, and July 21st, and September 15th. Therefore on 5 dates, the presenting partner will be something different. Also, Bedford Park is sponsoring fireworks on Friday, May 20th. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/schedule/p...ns.jsp?c_id=cws .
